In my meditation thought experiment exercise today with this song, I will imagine that I am a Norse shaman warrior… and I am fighting invaders… we’re outnumbered… one by one we all fall, but not one of us turns to run away… we push forward, killing 10-20 enemies each before we die… I am one of the first to fall to the ground… I am watching as my comrades all fight, and die… I had charged in at the front of the spear formation… I was chanting loudly and screaming wildly and madly, like a rabid wolf… 🐺… increasing moral as I howled, yipped, screamed, and chanted in a low raspy voice, singing prayers to the gods, that we might all reach Valhalla… I lay there dying, I am full of bolts, arrows, and several sword wounds… I grab my shield and my shamanic mace forged for battle and ritual… I hold them close and begin to see beings of divinity falling down from the skies, floating as if they had wings! And I see them one by one, gathering up the souls of the dead, and leading them to Valhalla… my prayers were answered… I am dying, but refuse to leave just yet… I must make sure every last one of us is taken to Valhalla… as my last action, I take my fingers, and draw a rune with my blood upon my forehead… Next thing so know, my spirit is like a giant translucent blueish-ultraviolet fluctuation, in the shape of a wolf, but not quite physical, yet observable… first I see it, then I become it… the wolf runs around, aiding the angelic beings from the heavens… valkyries they’ve been called by some… I know what they are… I have lived with one eye inside 👁️ and one eye blind… for so I plucked it out when I became a shaman, throwing it into the flames, and I offered my left eye to the gods, and my right eye to my people… I have always seen the spirits… and now, I am one of them…
