Slides out the glass using thumb before closing the lid, and then again slides it in before opening the lid

There's a slot in the side of the box, the glass slides halfway into his hand

Don't know exactly, but it's clearly in the way he's holding the box. Definitely some sliding going on inside the box using one of his fingers.

It’s called a “Ching Ling Box”. Yes, there is a trap door on the side, he was blocking its view with his fingers. As he was shaking it the glass was hitting the door slowly open until the coin had enough room to pass through.
