This song is cool but seriously what is this song even about? I read the lyrics but still, like... ???

I'm going to see blind Pilot tonight and I see this guy will be performing. I like his voice and the sound (kinda like blind Pilotl, but, I'm a Christian and when I realized what the song was about I was instantly turned off. Too bad. I can't listen to s like that. Makes me sad for him. Actually SPEAKING that Jesus Christ is a lie that he was too dumb to realize. I don't lend my ears to that kind of garbage.

Oh when I wake up I don't wake up until i crawl inside a coffee cup Full of speed and powder drugs and coffee When i get to work i don't get to work until i get my brain another jerk with a couple keep me goin's and a calm me down Yeah some folks roll out of bed they rise and fall as god would have them Life's as easy as just pushin the gas and goin I wish i would have spent a lot of years Trading the ties for coffee and beers And now i gotta shift my own busted gears Im Emmanuel When its happy hour it ain't happy hour Till a couple rounds tall strong and sour Keep shining up my smile For you to see When its time to chill Don't got time to chill Until i get my watch to start standing still And i know how but that sure will be expensive Oh some folks roll out n'at They rise and fall just like god would have them And life's as easy as just pushing the gas and goin I wish i could've spent a lot of years Trading the ties for coffee and beers And now i gotta shift my own busted gears Im Emmanuel I need my chemicals To keep this vehicle on the road Well she's ready for sex i ain't ready for sex Until i sneak a pill from my bedside chest And man i'm far too young for this I'm Emmanuel And when its time to sleep i don't go to sleep Until i smoke a big ol' bowl of weed And i wash it down with cold & flue & leaf I'm talkin' bout the good stuff Some folks roll out out a mat They rise and fall just like god would have Life's as easy as just pressing the gas and going I wish i could but Have spent a lot of years Trading the ties For coffee and beers And Now i gotta shift my own busted gears I'm Emmanuel I need my chemicals To keep this vehicle On the road

Here after seeing Anna open for the Mountain Goats in Austin and NOLA. One of her other songs brought me to tears. This one made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. What a groove.

To me, this sounds like Bob Dylan‘s “it’s all right Ma I’m only bleeding.“

Thanks, it was bugging me which Dylan song this was leaning heavily on. I reckon Bob deserves a credit here. Enjoyed it nevertheless.

The boy who I gave abit of my heart too when i was 15, has just left to start a new life in Australia. We have been back and forth for years but we finally started too settle. We reignited things through him bringing me plants too my allotment ( I only just got it last year) this morning I went down too my allotment to mess around and just remember the beginning of me and him. This song came on a random playlist. Sometimes the universe tells me I'm in a wes Anderson film, when I got home my fridge has broke and the milk is sour. I miss him but we are still in the same film.

There's a woman in the corner Claiming she is just the former one of me And I am here just out of context And this weight that I've been leaning And the persons I'm deceiving And the food that I've been eating says I'm processed And I can lack communication I can lack coordination Inside my awkward occupations like a fortress And then she spits unto the ground She says we'll all just figure out If she is me, if I am her It's just a process And all the texts that I've avoided All the persons I've annoyed With all my flighty conversations Out of context And the car keys I have locked inside The dishes I have dropped beside The useless things I've bought for someone's profit And there's a woman in the corner Claiming she is just the former one of me And I am her just out of context And then she kissed me on the mouth She said we'll all just figure out If she is me, if I am her It's just a process And when I've gone too long without her And I'm alone and I'm addicted to my phone She cuts the cord she pulls the power And makes me sit with my baggage All the haggard things I didn't want to feel She peels me back like I'm her cabbage And there's a woman in the corner Who makes me pull the fuck over Just to stare at purple clover off the highway And see the clover as a gift A gift I almost missed You know I finally begin to feel better Time you know Has its stones You were a boulder then You're in my pocket now Time you know Has its stones You were a ghost back then I can see you now I can honor you now

From the sound of the new songs, it took Haley six years to put out a new album because she was busy being born. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the songs, and I'm ready to take notes. Edit to add: when she holds that note on the word "better," I just go all misty.
