For me and probably a lot of other people. There are some towns where you just cannot find the musicians, or the right ones, or any at all. In those cases. Where its people wanting to be creative and perform live, but maybe cannot because they do not have a full band. Do some shows HOWEVER you want or can.Proving your desire to play live will intrigue someone and get you live musicians faster, imo. But if your heart needs to do it. Go up on stage solo with all backing tracks for all I care. Sometimes the passion and desire outweights the local availability of musicians. For bands that are short a member, had one leave, or is sick. I think it really depends on the band. Small bands can get away with it. But If I was going to see Slayer and there was no drummer. I want my F-ing money back. But if I spent 20$ on a ticket and enjoed most of the bands and 1 band was missing a bassist/guitarist I have most likely never heard of before. Its not some huge expectation I was let down on.

I agree with their decision to continue the show with tracks. Shows their commitment to the fans to give it their best than to give nothing at all! I mean, the technology is there like you said. I'm sure the fans who were waiting months for these shows were appreciative for the experience!

I'm doing exactly the opposite though. I'm explaining what tracks can and can't do and also, that I personally think that ST should play shows with tracks instead of canceling. Maybe listen instead of judging beforehand?

@ I’m noticing this is a trend in the comments. Maybe it says something about how long you take to get to the point? I would consider writing a script next time and making your point more clear sooner. This video could be half this length if you script it. Trim the fat, get to the point faster.

yeah they are replacing live guitar with tracks when someone cant play bcs guitarist and bass player are "only tour guys" ...every track u heard from sleep token is work of II the drumer and primary vessel, hes creating and recording vocals, guitar, bass, keys and production so i think it is not a big problem here
@NicolasPerrault12 күн бұрын
Same. Also, as mentioned they're not using studio tracks, but actual live one-take versions from previous shows, so you are getting sonically the same thing.

Hello. I need your advice . I started to learn guitar like year ago, my teachers make me practice diatonic and arpeggios of triads , jazz chords… it’s ok to understand music, but it’s far from doom metal or dark drone ambient. Can you give me advice pls, what theory should I learn to write and improvise in this genres like stoner , doom metal, etc. I know pentatonic , but don’t know what chords play, only like quint chords
@NicolasPerrault16 күн бұрын
Hey! I also learned with an old jazz dude, but really all you need is basic pentatonic and blues scales. If you want it to sound a bit darker, go harmonic minor. If you want to get started, try to keep it as simple as possible. 3 to 4 notes per riff is fine. Power Chords are one thing, but especially in Stoner Rock more often than not they are just open root-fifth or an open e string and a note on the a string. Hope that helps!

Start riff kinda reminded me of lateralus by Tool. Was that the kinda 😉😉 hint take the Micky out of it. I’ve liked stoner rock for a while and didn’t even realise. I recently got into a band called Red Sun Atacama and I’ve always liked Queens of the Stone Age. Then did a bit of reading and stoner rock desert rock came up. I love the sound, I think the reason that it is popular isn’t because it’s easy to replicate. I think the reason that it is popular is because it sounds fucking awesome. 🤘

Did u cover on tunings for post rock?
@NicolasPerrault2 ай бұрын
I do have one video on alternate tunings for ambient music, that might suit you. Whenever I'd play post rock I usually like it mildly down-tuned, so like C# standard or smth. But really any tuning can work.

Learn the blues scale, downtune your guitar, buy or build a fuzz pedal (preferably a RAT or a Muff). Dress a bit goth or wear a black wife beater and jeans, but no trainers, always shoes or boots, they must be black or brown, no red or white boots, you mite get away with purple or blue, the footwear etiquette is very important, if your turn up in pink sketchers - your not Doom.

I love it, all the way until you get to about G. Then, it kind of starts sounding muddy. Even on my 8. I dont really down tune it too far. For the sake of the top strings. If you look up "Internal Darkness by shrine of Malice" Theres a guitar cover on that song and it's literally just in standard tuning. Except for the top two strings. The 7th is in A and the 8th string is in E. Sounds brutal as shit. I almost think it is a matter of preference, feel, and a few other things. But, as far as down tuning to sound heavy. I think it's just a matter of how you utilize your instrument. Each tuning definitely does add its own spice to the mix though.
@NicolasPerrault6 ай бұрын
I have an 8 string that I rarely play bc I really haven't found a good use for it yet. Somehow low-tuned 6 strings are just more my vibe, I guess.
@eggpod45676 ай бұрын
@@NicolasPerrault I totally get that. Low tuned 6 strings are bad ass. I do most of my playing on an 8 string. But, weirdly I barely even touch the top strings while playing. I think I almost just like the feel of them more. The size of the fret board in general. I like to play more melodic, harmonic soloy stuff. I feel cured. Everytime I try to groove like you, it sounds like horse shit. Lol.

@NicolasPerrault7 ай бұрын
That's a tough one. There's "fast" and slow. I'd say for a fast track try anything between 120 and 140, and for a slow track between 80 and 100. Now there are also suuuuuper slow tracks, that border on drone and some mid-tempo ones, but I feel these are good starting points.
