Good review! Interesting that you chose black rather than orange which is unlikely to be mistaken for a firearm. I'm trying to choose between Byrna LE at $530 and Umarex T4E .43 PPQ at $200. Umarex has size, weight, and price advantages but I'm trying to resolve a performance difference. Anybody out there understand why this impact energy difference exists?... Byrna LE claims 15.2 joules at 330fps, while Umarex T4E .43 PPQ claims only 7.5 joules at 344fps. Neither lists the mass of the projectile used for testing. Byrna LE product page does not list caliber. Both products claim very similar effective ranges.

@justindozone2160 I simply prefer things to be all black. I've never been a fan of bright orange lol As far as the power and fps, my understanding is that he projectiles have different weights, and that they are being tested at different ranges, causing a loss of velocity and power. That I'd not necessarily true, but it is my understanding thus far. My encouragement would be to choose a tool you can be confident in and can use to the fullest of its ability when needed.

This is a nice system but under powered! I have seen a person take a full clip and still beat the shooter almost to death! I carry a customized TR50 as a Less Lethal and a XDM ELITE 10MM for a backup! Somebody running is what these type guns work great for.

@TheDanielKelly well put sir. I agree. I would prefer the Byrna systems but they just didn't work in real world applications. At least mine. They could make a system that was 100 joules stock and adjustable. I think it would sell well. Maybe it's a legal issue. Very good video and thanks for the response.

I'm starting up metal fabrication. I have a lot of the tools already (welder/angle grinders/evolution metal chop saw/plasma cutter) but my workshop (two car garage) is a mess so I'm finishing that before I build a ridgid small parts organizer cabinet to hold 16 of them that will double as a workstation for my evolution miter saw. Then I can get to building my plasma CNC table (using JDS garage plans for the 4x4 version). Metal fabrication is my new jam. - John

I saw a demonstration with the orange and black version. It did NOT go well. Misfires. Balls rolling out the barrel. 3-4 attempts but no fire. Maybe they've worked out the bugs since their review, but please be careful. Practice in "real life" citations, in which you'd pull piece from the holster, switch off the safety and deploy the round. If the equipment fails your tests, consider getting your money back.
@TheDanielKelly

I do appreciate your caution. I have had misfires a couple times, but not often. I have never had a round fall out. I can safely say this is considerably trustworthy. This concern over failure in the tool however is the reason I practice so much with mine. I want to make sure this thing CANNOT fail me if I ever need to use it. So far I would say the tool is dependable after all my tests I've personally done. Thank you for watching the video and taking time to comment to me. I always enjoy hearing from people. Very good demo. I was not surprised that the gas pellets worked against a hard target. However, do they work on a soft target. Your attacker isn't going to be a solid piece of wood but rather someone wearing soft clothing. My question is do the pellets pop if they hit someone wearing a soft thick shirt or a coat made of soft material.

So if you deploy this on someone inside a building ( pepper spray) then you would be affected by the spray also? And or in the outdoors where the wind direction is coming at you. . I don't think you could ask someone attacking to "please come from THAT direction ". ???? So now you have a civil suit from causing distress and possibly putting an eye out or brushing.????
@TheDanielKelly
@TheDanielKelly 3 ай бұрын
I definitely understand the concern about the blast. They make basic kinetic rounds that do not burst, and that would be a better option if you are worried about the overspray. At the same time, if you are in a self defense situation, you would rather be choked up a bit than dead or seriously hurt. I am not saying it isn't a problem, but merely stating the considerations. I do thank you for watching the video however!
