Out of all the guys, robert is the best bassist. I remember hearing him with infectious grooves and was like wow. To say they wouldn't know if Cliff would have been the right guy was ridiculous. Guys today got their ideas from Cliff. Are they better? Meh, but who's to say Cliff wouldn't have gotten better. The dude was a beast and a legit musician. With all that being said, jason is still my bassist. None of them gave the energy he did at a show, and thats what made him gold in a time when the band was down and falling out.

Ya know it kind of hit me again. Rob has been in the band for longer than Jason and Cliff. James is worth like 300 million Lars is worth like 300 million Kirk is worth like 200 million Rob is worth only 50 million. Yes, that's a lot of money but you'd think for a band member who's been there longer than both Cliff ans Jason combined, he'd be making more. Especially how he is so professional in the studio and an animal on stage. I'm just gonna say it. I blame Lars.

Trujillo was absolutely the right choice. But man I would have loved to hear Pepper Keenan singing backups for James.

Rob was an excellent choice. Jason was a big loss though. And obviously, all of them are just fill-ins for Cliff, no matter how long they've played with the band.

Rob is an unshakable talent, that's for sure. And can we all agree that Zach is the unofficial Metallica 5th member!? That dude has been with the fellas now for what, 30 years?! As much as I'd love to meet the boys one day, the crazy thing is I'd equally love to meet Zach. Shit, I'd be happy to buy him a bunch of beers and just sit and listen to all his stories one night! Hope he writes a memoir when he retires!! (Does Metallica Inc. have a pension plan ya think?). :D

As much as I love Jason and Cliff and wish those two could've stayed in, watching this video made me realize how perfect Robert was as both a replacement and member of Metallica. He shared that energy, passion, and love for the music that had driven Metallica Gotta give it to the man. He came in after Jason and Cliff, and had James, Lars, and Kirk in awe at how amazing he was. Perfect guy for Metallica
