Yeah,sorry to interrupt your liking,but no. Many districts and big city itself are facing many problems,such as;internal security, installation / watermain problems, Arabs,Security,And many many more. Just a month ago,maybe you know what happened in Edirnekapı, and some districts and central city are too expensive for living,Purchasing power is the perfect example for it.

I applied with the SAT. They only accept extremely high scores. For my case I scored 1520 but they waitlisted me. The accepted students got 1550 and 1560. This is for industrial engineering

What is department interview at bogazici university like ? How long does it take to know if you have been admitted into a program from the day you attend the department interview ? Does the University help with student visa application or a student have to apply for the student visa from their country ?

From my experience, the department interview from my program at least was stressful. It consists of two parts, the exam and the oral interview/exam. If you pass the first exam, you will be invited for the interview in which members of the department will ask you questions about you and your research goals. For the results, I took my exams in april or may and I found out I got accepted in July. Yes, the uni does help with the student visa application but most of it you will have to do on your own. They will provide you the necessary info and steps for the visa application.

Hi Sahar, thanks so much for sharing your honest experience as an international student there. I'm thinking about going to grad school abroad at either China, Russia, or Turkey just to experience a truly different culture and ideology, so this realistic perspective is really going to help me with my decisions. What that one teacher did to you is extremely confounding by the way, specially to guilt trip you like that after the fact. I can't wait for you to go gloves off in your video after you graduate. Also, were there just not many other international students or like an international students club where you can find each other? And, if you don't mind me asking, what are you planning on doing with a cognitive science degree, especially in Turkey, if not more academia? One more thing, whenever I google Bogazici, one thing that doesn't fail to show up is some controversy regarding the rector and protests or something. Was this something you experienced the effects of personally at all? Did it have any impact on the outlook of international American/English speaking students there?

I have a lot to unpack about my experience and encounters with different professors, especially my advisor. During my time there, I only met one other international student from the states. There are other foreigners but they are usually erasmus or temporary exchange students while I am a full time master student so they come and go. Idk what i will do with my degree. I wanted to pursue PhD but after my experience, I realized that most people in academia is just arrogant and toxic. Yes, I also experiences the change of rector, it happened in my first year. I was not very actively involve with the protests and tended to stay away because they were very dangerous. There are foreign teachers who left after the rector drama, I am not sure about the impact to foreign students.

SAT is for undergraduate applications while GMAT/GRE is for graduate applications :)

I heard a lot from exchange students that you should not stay in dormitory there. As you said its super expensive but there are also a lot of rules there , such as not allowing people after a certain time etc.

@@정재영-f5w No problem! I study in The Netherlands and they have those ‘exchange experiences’ from our uni to bogazici. Almost everyone also said that you have to apply really on time for the courses you want to follow because they are full in a short time and the system crashes when students are allowed to apply. What location is your room at

I don't think there are any PhD programs in cognitive science available at the moment. Not sure if they will add it in the future. I am currently doing my masters in cog sci :D

Everyday how many hour classes are held here? How is the timetable

Classes start at 9am. Last class is at 10pm. Classes are usually held in 50 minute slots but can change depending on the credit hours

Right now it is mixed. Some teachers teach online, others in person and there are some hybrid courses

For undergraduates coming from the states, Yes the SAT is required to apply
