the great Bill Summers, first got famous for playing the percussion on Herbie Hancock's CHAMELION hit jazz instrumental. Then I saw an episode of Soul Train; when Don interviewed the band leader, it was Bill Summers - a tenor saxophonist. Blew my mind - never knew he was also a horn man. Still, a great band leader and overall musician. WHAT'S THIS MESS - SUMMERS HEAT - one of my all-time favorite jazz-jams !!! from 1978 - College Dazes!

Working with Queen Barbara Morrison was a PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE! I have great stories just being able to work with her before her passing. I did a show at BMPAC and have "Honoring Barbara Morrison" ...on my Channel for anyone who wants to see it. Guest stars are from Rose Royce, Star Trek, and more. Please take a look. 🖖🏾👽🧘🏾♀️🛸

Volker Kriegel, Wolfgang Dauner and Hiromasa Suzuki are the pinnacle of jazz fusion for me.i feel like these artists applied the same experimental approach as Jimi Hendrix did in his music.

"Claro. Está gravada", respondeu meu pai. Eram os anos 70 no Rio de Janeiro. Um outro mundo...

This was a social statement of the era. I take no personal offense because of the deplorable working and living conditions Freddie Hubbard witnessed on a daily basis, from his own homeland and touring across the seas. it wasn't racism that drove Freddie Hubbard to this state of anger. But frustration upon frustration over the state of the financial imperialism that crippled black Americans and black folk globally. The attitude of black servitude linked to the Cash Flow that undermined the entertainment genre was depressing. Working in an environment where they hate you outside of the club, but wanted you to sing and dance the minstrel show because they paid to enter the establishment. It still persists today

😊 I tried to find lyrics, but couldn't, so here's what I got: (Beautiful sax solo )🎷 Lyrics "Nigger Please" You're standing the welfare line Tryin to get enough to get by, You say you're having a hard time But you're dressed up like super fly! Nigger please! Hush your mouth And stop all that fuss Nigger please! Is it necessary for you to cuss? You disrespect the old folk And you disrespect all the young You even disrespect your self Thinking you're having fun Nigger please! You just talk too loud and you talk too much Nigger please?! You're the loudest thing on the bus. 🎷 Listen, You go out in the street With big rollers all in your hair Chewing on a pig foot sandwich Like you ain't never been fed Nigger please! Why don't you listen more, And run your mouth less? Nigger please! Get on up off that life of rowdiness Stop picking up good woman Don't get messed up on dope Getting drunk on food And dragging all over town Nigger please!
