Sounds down-range are much higher, I live just 3 km from a wind farm. But I dont mind the sound.

overrated explorer considering his blunders, capt worsley was the man who devised the boat journey to save them and helped convince shackelton to stop his perilous journey dragging the boats across the ice which almost caused a mutiny, reminiscent of an earlier explorer franklins demise dragging a piano through same conditions, shackelton played a part in leadership to help the effort that worsley should have been given credit to

BILLIONS of tax payer funded rail upgrade gifted BILLIONS in unearned Land Value gain to private land owners. Thanks Tax Payer losers!! LAND VALUE TAX makes private Land Owners pay their RENT to the Public for our infrastructure, keeping income taxes low & transport fares low.

Did everyone have to come from the UK just for us to get a decent underground station!?!?1?

well this is what happens when we spend most of our time and money building just roads. and until there's a solid pipeline of rail like what the herald is calling for, itll take a while for the expertise, experience, be home grown and come with cost benefits.

Uk has some of the best design engineers in the world, but the government there keeps fkn up infrastructure projects, so not surprising they take their skills elsewhere…!

Probably, because the London tube network is both the oldest, and most complex metro network in the world, and it is one of the best, certainly top five, of underground network's in the world. They have over 160 years of experience behind them, and many stations that weave lines between, under, and over, existing lines in the center of a city a lot more congested than Sydney. Excellent choice to bring them in. They know what they are doing.

As expected...The sound from turbines is GREATLY exaggerated! No, Turbines DON'T make you sick! It is all purely "Psychosomatic".

This starts out thoughtful but quickly becomes “we made up four scenarios and water color painted them”, no discussion of outcomes leading to each situation, necessities to get from here to there, timelines, no details at all. Just imagination.

Nice try, but this video is hiding the truth. This video let's you hear the turbine, but it's what you cannot hear that will make you feel ill and that is infrasound. They are measuring what can be heard by the human ear above 20Hz. It is the frequencies below 20Hz that is created by these turbines (and usually more than one in a wind farm) that you cannot hear, with long wavelengths that will travel for miles and over a prolonged period will vibrate your organs and you will experience nausea, headaches, disturbed sleep and fatigue. I have met people with these symptoms, because they are experiencing 92decibels of infrasound inside their home. I've been to that house and guess what?....you can't hear a thing! If you lived near a night club or concert hall, or someone was playing loud music, you would only hear the thump of bass frequencies because the lower down the sound spectrum you go, the further the noise travels. The microphones used in this video are not designed to record infrasound, or for that matter ultrasound, The amplifier, speakers or headphones you are using will not reproduce frequencies below 20Hz. Similarly, at the other end of the sound spectrum, a lot of people will not hear much above 15,000Hz. The general range for audible sound being 20Hz - 20,000Hz. Have you seen a subwoofer vibrating? Turn up your speakers and watch the speaker cone move to the bass and kick drum, or timpani. Put your hand close to it and feel the air move. To get that thumping bass at a rock concert you will need lots of big speakers to move the air. To move enough air to produce frequencies below 20Hz you would need something much bigger and moving a lot of air slowly - a wind turbine! Also, just like speakers, the more you have, the more noise you will make. Governments want to show off how good and green all this is and are taking advantage of the public's general ignorance of the dangers to human health. Not many politicians are aware of the dangers of infrasound and sadly neither are peopele in health sector. Wind turbine companies are making soaring profits. Where I am in Scotland, land owners are also making huge profits. The bare hills were bought by the rich (who generally don't live in this country) and for decades have saturated our hills with forestry - mainly sitca spruce. Now the forests are dissappearing and wind turbines are appearing in their place.

All thanks to the wonder of CO2 steel (made from 99% pig iron which is produced via blast furnaces which use coal as the fuel and produces tonnes of CO2 which is actually harmless and essential to the planet)
