Gary - I think the temperature sensor just went out on our new to us DC Solar trailer. I just completed charging the battery bank that is functioning (84% SOH) and I went out to check the timer for the light towers and saw the SMA coded BatOvrTemp... the generator shut down correctly and 45 minutes had passed?! Where can I order one of these sensors as a replacement?

Try eBay and if not try SMA the inverter manufacturer.

Would love to find one of the complete trailers like you have but we are having to go with a base model that has the Enclosed SMA's, Midnite Solar Charge Controller, Panels and trailer. We have a GNB 48v VRLA 2,000 Ah battery bank we will put on the trailer to get up and going and we will add a generator to supplement power. I wanted to get the light towers to install wind turbine - we are on a mountaintop with tons of wind. Thanks for posting your videos! Learning the in's and out's of the system. Fantastic!

Rookie mistake. That Ram gets towed from the rear. It isn't front wheel drive.

That is unnecessary wear n tear on the wheel lift. if you were going to tow the truck you would need to put it on the bed. And you never want to tow anything with the drive wheels on the ground.

Is there a way to configure the inverter to ignore the temperature sensor and run without it? I have the batteries charging on solar anyway so temp monitoring is more important for the charge controller, not the inverter.

You wouldn't want to do that because #1 ruin your battery or worst cause a fire because the battery got too hot.

You can't go as far to flip it over. Too many safety systems onboard. It applies to any boom lifts. I work on these on a daily basis- I have been left hangin in 20 meters because the motor wouldn't start and the emergency descent system doesn't work but you will come down in one piece. I have had to call the technician to operate. But it's stupid safe in terms of tipping over and falling down.
