How do you prevent the tracks from buckling in warmer weather and prevent gaps from opening in cold weather?

The number of times I've had to comment on Class 800s, they are not like HSTs the driving cars are not power cars. The power cars are the intermediate cars where the engines are. 3 in a 5 car set and 5 in a 9 car set.

Free speech is UNDER manipulated attack for the ulterior motive of shutting DOWN all complaints and to create a WORLD on soma and / or brainwashed into castrated docile CONTROL... THIS is done by the government+/corporate offender RULERS so they won't be exposed as LIARS and CROOKS 100 PERCENT OF the TIME, no BITCHING NO accusations no prosecution..........dude , Free speech trumps any content you find WRONG.. Small stinking minds see the world as themselves...cancer DoESNT exist if they don't have it.. , if they are not victimized by a huge protected group there's no problem etc.........This issue here is so small and slight that you drove this PERSON to cancel their CHANNEL over !!! Jesus FROckin csyr...Ok , you don't like it , then fine, at LEAST start out by saying , I don't like this but I'm not here to SUPPORT in the LEAST that THIS person not have the perfect RIGHT to speak his TRUTH

Didn’t see the video to which you refer but it sounds disgraceful to say the least. I agree entirely with everything you’ve said and you said it so well. Rule 1 as you describe is fundamental to this hobby and as you say at the end model railways in any shape or form are all about enjoyment and nobody has the right to criticise anyone else’s especially on a platform such as this. You have another subscriber here.

I have recently set up a 2.5 meter twin track N scale but with a 3rd track on opposite side of station straight with curve meeting main line. But with no switches it's a fake for looks . It suits the 4 year old, simple and no switches for him to mess with. I'm even making a fake loco just to park on it. It isn't realistic or anything else but he loves it. Better than the battery choo choo in other room. Canning others should not happen. I've seen it and also some comments can be a bit nasty.

I like this approach and I want to do something similar but my planned baseboard is larger (8' x 5') and I want to put castor wheels on for moving it around in the house. Any suggestions?
@Rule1ModelRailways2 ай бұрын
you will also need to brace the boards with more 3x1 timber in the middle, or the boards will sag

Does anyone know if this tool is still available? As the link in description does not appear to work.

Watched for five minutes and only one hole drilled. It’s only nuts and bolts. This would be ok for a permanent layout

Big improvement on those massive totally unprototypical rapido couplings but still nowhere near as good as knuckle (kaydee) couplings.

I found the trailer cars of the Farish 220 to be draggy, VERY draggy, so much friction that one of the drive shafts sheered after 3 weeks

Each to their own, as in all hobbies some will progress, time, money, and space permitting, the enjoyment at whatever level of a hobby a person is, is much the same if not greater at the outset. To denigrate people for not sharing your view, or having your level of interest/skillset does more to drive people away from hobbies, than to encourage them.

Just enjoy the hobby and do what you want and leave others to do the same, each to there own. Rule one is different to different people.

Hello. What a great review 👍. Just came across this as im thinking of getting some IPA's but am unsure at the moment how many to get due to length. Would it be at all possible you could measure a full QUAD set from buffer to buffer and let me know how long the 4 wagon rake is. I can then work out how many to get. Many thanks for your help. Kindest regards. Andy. 😊

A little advice, decant your rocket card glue into a Metcalfe bottle, it keeps well and you can control it better than those long stems, You can also use the nozzle the spread the glue. Also I never use a straight edge on the card, the lines are very accurate. Use scissors for windows, and test a few felt tips to match the white edges.

I want to start dcc automation i will be going down the itrain route but my question is what would i need just to get me started in running trains i will add points and detection later i just want to run trains to start with and i am looking at the yamorc YD7100???? Please help me out thanks mate. peter from birmingham
@Rule1ModelRailways10 ай бұрын
Hi, you'll need to lay the track for block detection from the off, and a YD7100
@chelmswoodjunction10 ай бұрын
Hi nick Thank you for your quick reply I knew you would be the one to answer this with your massive n gauge layout which I hope you still got as that has been my inspiration for my new build. And I am going to build the track in readiness for detection. If I have any more questions hope I can come to yourself. But could I ask could you maybe do a video on how to wire for block detection in an easy way??? Many thanks again. Peter

I am looking to use itrains on my new N Gauge layout to allow automation, what would be helpful is more detail on setting up track blocks and how you detect trains over points, would rather get this sorted before I starting laying track and adding the various blocks.
