It's an old review by now but wanted to give you props for showing HOW the unit works and not just picking five metal patches and shredding. You made an excellent demo vid even though you knew your playing was beginner level--mad props! We can see a million guitar wankers on Instagram but it's the pedal we want to see. Well done.

Excellent stuff, just getting back into guitar myself, so having to relearn everything, and teach my stubborn fingers to move, and the gt-1 is a good place to start for me

Excellent progress since your Boss GT1 review! See you now have a THR10 in the background. If you still have the GT1 are you running the pedal effects through the Yamaha? Asking as I have the THR10 and thinking about running a multi-effects unit with it! Thanks
@theamateurguitarist61872 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy. I don’t have it anymore as I’ve been through a lot of gear. However the THR would be good for using an FX unit with. Just run it through the Aux in port. Good luck!

Excellent explanation of how to create and save your own sound patches! I bought the Boss Pocket GT and it has more or less same sounss in it BUT it's a bugger to connect to a DAW. How's the playing coming along? Cheers mate!

Plus GNR uses a Gibson Les Paul not a single coil strat. RHCP uses a fender Strat so that sounded more like the song.

Thanks for the info just got the boss and didn’t realized I could do that. Wish someone would have given me this tip when starting. Get a notebook and write out the songs you learn in the book. In this case you can even write in the settings for the boss. You will be amazed on how many songs you will have learned but forgot you know how to play. Funny thing is you hands remember them so even if you haven’t played them in years it can take min to pick a song back up that took you weeks to learn when u first start. Also be sure you learn two easy fun song for every project song. Project songs are the cool songs that take a long time to get right. They improve your skills but can be bad for moral of you can’t get them.

You should check out the song tab on KZbin by searching “rocksmith sultans of swing” for the solo of the song, it’s real fun 🎸

Great video mate, really helpful review of the unit without all the self-indulgence you tend to see in these things. You play well for someone with only 3 months experience, keep it up

I feel like at 1:10, in the verse, the timing is not correct. Other then that, very good!!
@theamateurguitarist61873 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the timing isn't great. That's probably the thing that improves the slowest for me as I need to not think about the technique before I can nail the timing.

This demo is so simple, honest and raw. I think this is what demos should be really like. Thanks man for your effort, now I know what I need to get next. I’m also a beginner and I really found this useful and informative :) You rock! All the best to you.

Aye mate! Found your comment on ESPN FC "salah not scoring goal" and then I saw your profile name so I thought well let's check this out. As I am an amateur guitarist too. But after seeing you, either you ain't no amature anymore or I should not call myself amature😅😂. Well played mate. I really enjoyed it. Btw, song name?

Sounding awesome! A bit of general advice for beginners like myself: I find it really helps the flow of the music if you focus on playing at a steady pace, even if that means you're playing slower than you'd like. It took my a while to realize that. The speed will eventually get there with practice.

I just found this video from your Boss GT-1 review 3 years ago. Seeing how much you've improved since then is really crazy and honestly kind of inspiring for me as someone who's been playing guitar for a little over a year. Keep at it dude!
@theamateurguitarist61874 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Keep at it. Progress can sometimes feel slow, but that why recording things along the way really helps to keep motivation. Even just a few months after recording this, I cringe at some of the timing in it. If I hadn't recorded it, I wouldnt even realise I've improved. Good luck!

@@theamateurguitarist6187 Yeah that's a good point. I think I'll try it!
