You must have the certificates and trainings before applying sir, like Basic Safety Training, Advance Fire Fighting, High Voltage and depends on the company also what they require

I would guess if you work on chillers and have your RMO I don’t see why not. But I personally like being in a building and going home to my family when I’m not on engineer standby than to be out on a ship for who knows how long

If you wish to be an officer, you would start as a 4th engineer, you must complete your 4 year degree in marine school, you must pass all the USCG exams and have the required formations according to STCW (standard training and certifications for watchkeepers). The US coast guard requires minimum of 360 days of sea time to be able to pass those exams. There are many steps to become an engineer and can't just apply. It is however an awesome career

3rd engineer. Maayos din naman mag start as engine cadet sa cruise. Pero kung gusto maging skillful dun mo na mag simula sa cargo before pumunta sa cruise
