Right!? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single leg variation like that. I duno if that only works because he is tall and lanky enough to reach the leg that way or what. I might try it during open mat and see if I can get similar results

I wouldn’t say he was clueless on the other positions at all. He just got promoted for one and I am a competitive brown belt who is also younger. Though I’m moving slow this wasn’t a flow roll where I’m giving him so much space to reguard and launch attacks. He did a good job defending

Weight/Str makes a big difference. So does attacking someone larger relying on speed without off-balancing them first. Also, nice skill from the bigger guy who pulled your left arm in and adjusted his base while rotating to take you down. Cool, exchange.

Yeah this was back in 2020 and I was going through wondering why I never posted it but Thiago has always been a beast! Going to try again when I visit as a brown belt and see how I fair now haha
@ronin216727 күн бұрын
There are 3 basic requirements for a judo throw. Kuzushi, tsukuri and kake....you didn't have off balance, you failed at fitting with your opponent because you didn't have kuzushi, and kake or execution of the throw was thwarted because of the first 2 missing.
@ursinhobjj27 күн бұрын
Good thing it was a wrestling takedown and not a throw 😉 All jokes aside even if I had all that I’m not throwing someone who is 205lbs and a black belt as a 142lbs purple belt

@@ursinhobjjisn’t that the point of judo

How does the left hand block the vision when the hand goes to the side of the head and not in front of the face? Commentary needs help.
@ursinhobjjАй бұрын
Usually the hand comes to the face to get the flinch reaction before shooting in, the camera angle makes it look side of the head but when I watched it live it looked more in front of the face from a different angle. I appreciate the nitpicking though, if I have haters I must be doing something right 😂
