[SPOILERS] I only know realized that, by the end of the manga, Kaguya makes her brother give Shirogane money to forget about her. The money represents the immortal elixir in the orignal Kaguya storie and Shirogane used to reunite himself with her, thus keeping his promisse that he would read between the lines if he would ever to receive the same elixir.

I realized that when I rewatched the anime. The parallels in this show hits so hard. One of my fav was when Iino told Ishigami that she needed him as vice president. That “I need you” was the same energy Miyuki had when he said the exact same words to Kaguya back at the election episode 😭

In the folklore, Kaguya comes from the moon or is the moon or something like that. So she is essentially jealous of her own self and shirogane likes moon in any form.

Foreshadowing the ending of the manga, how he doesnt reject the money( elixir ) given to him, using that to go after his princess, doing everything to get back his princess who will be waiting for him. A well written romantic story.
