OMG ! I was just watching your video and your talking about one of my ancestors ! At least that’s what my father had told me about 50 years ago . I took a 2023 FTr carbon for a 20 minute test ride about a month ago love the bike but $20K is a lot of doe . So I might rent one someplace in Virginia then maybe drive it over to the dragon unless I can find a Indian dealer that rents them that’s closer to the dragon . Great video thanks

It’s a naked bike, not a commuter or adventure bike. It having no storage is kind of the point of the bike. It suppose to be a stripped down bike without bags and crap slowing you down For fuel millage I have a full toce low mount with no db killer and cat delete. Also have a tune and I get 100-110 miles on a full tank. It’s $8-$12 to fill the tank, I’d say that’s pretty good for a v-twin motorcycle. It’s a great bike but isn’t for everyone! I have never wished I had storage but then again it’s not a commuter bike for me, it’s a weekend fun bike that I take on the twistiest when the weather is nice.

The screen auto mode works fine for me. I get 110 to 120 miles per tank but by that time I'm ready for a short break. It's a naked sports bike so what do you expect? I bought it because it's a bloody hooligan that handles well. You should have bought a cruiser.

I love my 2023 rally but the gas tank is too small. What were they thinking? I'm going to cut the sides off and expand it to add 2 more gallons.

Only thing about these FTRs is I think Indian should be giving them all headlight cowls to clean up the looks. The Carbon, and the 2019 versions look a lot better because of that.

Thanks for the great info. I'm interested in an FTR myself. Could you do a video demonstrating the phone and music connection to the ride command display? I'd love to see some demos of what it looks like setting up, and when calls/text are received. How can you interact with those notifications? Can you use any streaming music service to play music? Do you have to initiate that before you begin riding? Can you initiate music or calls while riding? I have back issues myself so I was glad to hear you say it was was comfortable.

In all seriousness, if you wanted luggage, more fuel capacity fuel, and comfort, you shouldn't have bought a sports bike. Should have gone with a touring model of some sort. Can't blame indian for your poor choices. 🙄
@TheSuprahuman2 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. If you want storage a naked bike is a poor choice. Indian FTR, its kind of in the name, a flat tracker not a bagger.
@carolinamotovlog48092 жыл бұрын
I never blamed Indian. If you watch some of my other videos you would see that I pre owned a bagger. I was simply saying what the bike is not good at.

Dislike. Automatic involuntary killswitch! Bike is a 2022, brand new, and it tried to kill me the other day. Apparently there was a recall on the 2019s and it was supposedly fixed. Well, guess what, can confirm that it wasn't fixed on the newer models. Damn near dropped in a slight corner at 40 mph. The engine just died. No warning. Smooth and inconspicuous and BAM. Final destination scene. I would have had a bad day on that one as there were 2 cars behind me following fairly close. I love my FTR, but I now no longer trust the thing

@rickosborne65212 жыл бұрын
I hear ya on the day/night mode "auto" switch. It's not very good at it. I rarely ride at night, so mine is almost always in day mode, but the last time I went out for a night ride, it would not switch to dark, not in auto, and not even when I specifically tapped the dark mode. After literally 20 miles or so, it finally went dark, and now has stayed dark ever since, refusing to go light again even in broad daylight. Annoying. And mine came with the tracker seat, which is immensely uncomfortable. I have ordered the Carbon R seat from Indian and it's supposed to be here next week. Not sure how much better it'll be, but at 290 lbs, the tracker seat is just not cutting it lol

That “Auto” setting that you showed that’s the auto for screen brightness. The auto setting for light and dark mode it’s located in settings/themes/day night auto. Also if you keep pressed the back button in the left side it will get you back to the gauge screen.
@carolinamotovlog48092 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. I realized the “auto” setting I was in for for brightness while editing. The dark and light modes are in the “theme” setting page. As for the back buttons. I believe one cycles forward and the other backwards. Either way there should be 2 things added for safety. A button to bring you directly to the gauges and another button for ride modes.

that answered the question I had of Indian saying top speed is governed at 124--your speedo red 133 :). Mine is 3MPH off, so when I am going 133, I am guessing it's at 130mph for my bike. Great video!

Gorgeous bike. But for the price I’ll wait until Indian decides to put on a bigger fuel tank. At least they got the tire size right on the latest model.
@yassassin64252 жыл бұрын
It's simply selling out and compromising the bike further. The 19 front and 18 rear is homage to flat track pedigree which this bike purports to be derived from and which makes the original version more authentic. Evidently, not enough commercial or mainstream appeal.

I get 42 mpg on my 2022 Standard FTR(black is beautiful) and I'm running a full Toce 2-1 exhaust. Not sure why you're only getting 30 mpg. Most of the other dislikes seem related to the stuff only the S & Carbon have. Also, I always ride with my backpack, since I also ride a Ducati Streetfighter, so I never worry about storage. I upgraded to the Carbon seat when I ordered my FTR so I never rode on the stock seat, but it looked kinda lame compared to the Carbon version so that was the only upgrade I added from Indian. The rest of the stuff I've done on my own: NRC signals & fender elim, motogadget polished aluminum bar end mirrors, full Toce 2-1 exhaust & Lloydz V6 tune, all & all spent less on my standard with all my upgrades than the base cost of the S model. I've seen similar advice for people to just buy the Scout Sixty then spend the extra 2 grand(a little less) to do the big bore upgrade & tune. It will be more powerful than the 69 ci Scout, turning the engine into a 79 cu 1300cc behemoth for less than the base cost of the larger Scout. If you really want that big touchsceen and extra buttons for ride modes, graphics & extra buttons everywhere then you gotta get the S/Carbon I suppose but it seems like that's the bulk of your dislikes unfortunately.
