Wow. Simply the best small detail work I have seen. The chipping is extraordinary, and the paint surfaces are amazing. Best apps in a long time. Looks so real! Very high marks!

This 48th scale was done for a client, that size was also hard for me with shaky hands and vision issues. That’s why I mostly do 1/16 and 1/8 for cars.

German armor didn't chip that much. Most modelers tend to way over exaggerate the amount of chipping. Nice build though.

Thanks for your comments. You know after you started the chipping you cannot stop, and sometimes it could be over a bit. I think my latest build has already started to get some control of it.

Incredible work as always. I love the 1/16 form factor, mostly for the detail and big fingers. You go 2 steps above the level I do. The only criticism I can make is misidentification. The front "engine" is actually the transmission/final drive, and wood has grain, not veins. Other than that you are on point and I have learned a LOT from your videos. I bow to your expertise and skill. Any chance for a Sd.Kfz 251 in the future, or possibly a 234/2 Puma?
@henschelporsche1
@henschelporsche1 14 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comments and clarification. Yes I noticed that I made a mistype. The new Puma and the 252/22 Pak version are on the way when I get the shipment and might be a while before I can actually show the building. The 1/16 AHQ M113 is also an option for taking a break from the Wwii battlefield. I have not decided yet as I am also busy working on cars. Thanks for your encouragement and hope my videos really provide inspiration and new ideas!

I remember you can unscrew a lot of parts so you can open them up to work especially with the turret. The bottom hull might have to use force if they are not screwed on.

Thanks! I started many years ago with the Heng Long paint redo and found it fascinating that it could have been so much better when painted properly. Compared to building a much expensive Tamiya Tiger 1 , I could do five more tanks with that price, I also find out tamiya makes the tank less accurate when I started to dig deep inside the historical details, so now I mainly stay with static models. Will surely visit your site and happy modelling !!

Excellent build, thanks for sharing video. Questions: 1. What is your base color yellow? 2. from your experience, do you think its possible to paint over Tamiya TS-80 flat clear coat? Directly over with new color, or first with fine primer. Sorry to ask questions in your video forum, but it’s difficult to find knowledgeable people to talk to for this hobby.
@henschelporsche1
@henschelporsche1 3 ай бұрын
Hi, really thank you for your compliment! And no worries with your questions, I will be happy to answer all if I could. 1. The base colour I used was Tamiya XF-88 dark yellow 2. I like if better than 60 dark yellow 1 as it is more vibrant and less dull. 2. I don’t see any problem painting on the flat clear lacquer, even with acrylic paint it is still ok. I always use both on my models without issues. Of course putting a grey primer would provide a better adhesion to the cover paint but really up to you. Military models are ok to show flaws as it happens on the real tank during the chaotic environment. I hope you can share and subscribe to my channel.

@@henschelporsche1 Thanks very much for your reply, really appreciate you taking the time. I painted road wheels, lower hull, and rear hull with XF-60 ... and instantly didn't like it. But thought I should keep going, so flat clear coated it. It's a 1/16 Tamiya Tiger 1 RC model converting to a Mid Production version. I got frustrated trying to find parts, along with the XF-60 color ... and haven't touched it in two years. Just rebooted the project after seeing some models painted with XF-88, and figuring out if it's ok to repaint over the flat coat. Thanks for your answer, it helps carry my project forward.
