Owning highly upgraded versions of both I can say they are visceral, soulful machines that are two of the greatest drivers' experiences in road cars at any price. Part of their thrill is that they are uncompromising cars that demand skill and smoothness to drive quickly and will punish lack of judgement. The Honda's powertrain is so gratifying to rev and each shift of the legendary manual rewards you with a new run to redline.. The balance and double wishbones deliver tenacious front end grip.. The Exige has the aero, the looks, unparalleled steering feel, instantaneous direction changes, and the racecar like seating view. Exige requires trail braking to generate front grip.. The Honda will run for hundreds of thousands of miles even when driven hard. The Lotus reliability is more an issue particularly if you're running lots of mods but without them I think the platform is just fine. I really have a hard time choosing one.

You need rolling shots and fly by shots at full acceleration. Idle sound is just one small parameter of exhaust sound. You also need interior shot going at city speeds (50km/h) in 3rd or 4th to see if there's any unwanted low frequency resonance ("boomy" sound). FWIW the RFY sounds more refined and I think at full acceleration (up to 8K+ redline) it will sound divine, also because he's got the RFY headers too. Stock NA1 headers are a joke, honestly, they were done that way in order to limit the power to 270hp. Side note: which RFY exhaust is it ? They have a lot of different models.
@DRBLUESNYC7 күн бұрын
100% correct on all counts! Thank YOU for the recommendations. RFY is definitively more refined, and SOS - more raw. We will ask Andy to pitch in his explanation of the version.
@dadoke766 күн бұрын
The rolling/outside shots are in the pipeline! The RFY exhaust is the GT Exhaust 4 (silent version). I also have the silencers instead of the cats, with the test pipes the sound became too raspy. For me this is the perfect exhaust actually, the sound is always present, but it's not intrusive. I have one drive by clip, enjoy kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIKvipuBqcaLnpI
@LegendaryGauntlet6 күн бұрын
@@dadoke76 I have the same exhaust then :) RFY headers, SARD cats, RTY GT4 silent. Was wondering because it sounded very familiar... BTW i had a full Toda line before, and it had that 2.5K rpm drone :/ But otherwise a very nice sound.

If your "best sounding NSX exhaust" video doesn't include the Taitec GT009, that converts your headers into an equal-length 6-2-1 (high-frequency V12 sound), then you're missing out. See BAUXITER1 old videos for examples with several header combos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hICtiatmesyLh6M
@jdmnuggets12 күн бұрын
Taitec sounds wild yeah but you're info as far as i know is off. Taitec gt009 is a 2 to 1 single exit cat back exhuast/muffler, not a set of equal length headers. The video you referenced he is running dc headers, which are basically identical to the pride exhuast headers that im running. Most of that insane sound is literally the single exit 2 to 1 muffler by taitec. My understanding is the exhuast note wasn't the goal of that muffler but was a by product of saving weight ( cause race car )going to a single exit.
@DRBLUESNYC7 күн бұрын
That TAITEC does sound great. A more "track" kinda of sound. I also love it, but personally prefer the SOS, deep growl sound that gets aggressive only when pushed. THank YOU for watching and best regards from Dr Blues!
@egeg-nr4qs6 күн бұрын
@@jdmnuggets GT009 was made to mimic the 6-2-1 header used on the 2009 Super GT NSX race cars (hence the name GT009). I see what you're saying, but it's not really a catback. Especially since it bolts directly to the headers (deletes the cats). It's a tuned equal-length/diameter header extension that converts any existing headers into 6-2-1 (with an almost non-existent muffler). If your existing headers are equal length, it will become a high frequency even-fire screamer.

I have both cars. They both handle great, and the steering is not a flaw on either. As far as power goes, they both are a blast to drive hard without tons of power. They can be easily modified for more if needed. I have a feeling you have not driven either car to be making such claims.

@@user-ek5nl1jc4b Your comment confirms you can't drive and are a poseur. Electronic power steering in both cars destroys steering feel, not having the discernment of this is proof you have zero value to contribute regarding the merits of these cars.
