As a Bournemouth resident all my life it’s embarrassing to see what the standard of some of our hotels are. This used to be the best hotel in the 90s with celebrities staying here. Even the England football team have stayed here .

stayed here as a kid back in the early 90s. Back then it was one of Bournemouths fanciest hotels, the restaurant was where the bar you saw was, and it had a casino at the back as you went up the hill. I think its generally full of grannies these days.

I stayed here as a kid back in the early 90s and I remember it being like a maze, reminded me of The Shining and scared the shit out of me. Later on my dad would go here for a drink on Fridays, they had a Mr Do arcade machine just outside the bar I'd play on while my mum and dad hung out with their friends. Nothing in this video is familiar except the endless white hallways!

Used to be a Five star hotel back in the 70’s . Went downhill rapidly. 186 years old and it’s showing with no investment. De Vere hotels got rid and Britannia have made it worse.

This Travelodge has just been refurbished so probs worth another visit :)

This was once a beautiful hotel up until the late 90s, I was brought up in Bournemouth and remember the Bentley's, Aston's and RR being valet parked by uniformed concierge, There was also a great pub, Buccaneer bar and Casino. If you want decent in Bournemouth go Hilton, Brittania Hotel's owned by Asians, they own two or three in Bournemouth 49 quid cheap and on the beach.

It's like an adult Disneyland, and has something for everyone! 😊This Yank approves.

Cheaper and better than anything you'll find here in California, and all of us humans leak gross things as we sleep..😅 Only plusses here are free refills on coffee, water, sodas, and iced teas at every restaurant, and some fast food chains as well. 😊

Hello from California. Beats the cheap Americans hotels any day, and half the price, plus we have outrageous taxes and fees on top of the base price. At least we get free refills on coffee, sodas, and iced teas here.And glasses of water are always free, even at fast food places.

The absolute pikeys who book a £49 room then expect anything other than what was shown here. Looks good value to me…if you want 5* then expect to pay 10x that.

Bournemouth isn't a city its a town....such a shame... I've lived here all my life and the gardens and beaches are stunning but the town centre is becoming derelict with so many empty units ... I don't know the answer really.?maybe landlords need to drop the rent or do 3months free to fill in the empty shops... its still well worth a visit for the beach alone

At 17:49, the footage shows a mountain opposite Perast that has been destroyed so some Russians can build a building complex. There are many examples like this, where nature is being destroyed, causing chaos. Montenegro has wild beauty that is being ruined by Russians because of corruption. Kotor Bay is magical. It is an air spa!

My daughter and partner just came back after booking a night with expedia. Disgusting! Filty room. Dubious clientelle. Felt like staying in the hotel in The film The Shining. Couldnt sleep and had to place towels on bed as bedding was awful.. fittings covered in dirt and dust. Never ever stay here again. Rather stay in a prison.

Is there an ice machine in the building?

As of this comment I am staying in this hotel in the exact same room as you and we'll nothing has changed. And infact it's worse

Bournemouth is not a city overhall hotel not bad I live in Bournemouth but would not reccommend it try some of the others many have a wore rep than this go up the orad one looks nice but is for sale due to very few guests after the round about think it is green and white apparently they should pay you to stay

This used to one of the best hotels there 5* celebrities stayed there ,it was very posh ,so sad to see its gone so downhill😢
