Many people advise ordering a size up, but ordering an extra size gives me the impression that it fits well at first but after use it can be very loose, my foot measures 26cm. I am between 41 (259cm) or 42 (266cm)
@downhillwings3 ай бұрын
@@otarkaeones1135 you can heat mold the boot multiple times so it fits better. I would always take the smallest size possible for your foot, where your toes don't hit in front. One very important thing is to use the smaller screws for the frame in front as the longer screw exerts some pressure on the bottom of the foot causing a lot of pain which can mistakenly make one think that the boot is too small. Your case is tough as it is possible the 41 has enough clearance for your foot, but if you have large feet I would go for the 42 boot and heat mold many times and put the tied laces under the flap.
@otarkaeones11352 ай бұрын
@@downhillwings Thank you, you have given me some very useful advice, especially about the screw. I think I will go for the tightest one and shape it a lot :)

Franchement c'est impressionnant ! Vous avez créé une nouvelle discipline, l'Alpine inline skating. Monter à la force des cuisses, et descendre avec aisance. Faut avoir de sacrées cuisses et une bonne technique en downhill ! Impressionnant
@downhillwings3 ай бұрын

I cannot get that slide down. Any tips
@downhillwings3 ай бұрын
@@j.hermanarmstrong for the parallel slide the key is to make the inside foot slide, I often even try to put more angle on the inside foot. Second, while you put more angle on your inside foot, try to space out your feet, that will give more stability to the slide. Finally, train your carves, keep your body looking straight in front, lower your center of gravity(by bending your knees) and do small carves staying in a straight line, only rotating the lower part of your body. This final step will help you 1. Understand the angle at which your wheels slide. 2. Keep your upper body straight while sliding, to slide straight, 3. Learn to carve with your feet at the same level, not staggered, which will usually make you over rotate when you try sliding. Good luck 👍😉

Awesome skating and the scenery is stunning! Hey, what wheels/hardness do you recommend for learning controlled slides down hills?
@downhillwings3 ай бұрын
@@DownhillinlineJourneyThank you! I believe it depends on weight and your riding speed, many of us who go fast and steep use rollerblade hydrogen 85a wheels while others find their grip is too high and one can't slide at slower speeds. The Iqon access wheels at 85a are good too with slightly less grip. In any case, more important than hardness is the urethane, the wheels stipulated above, for example, have a very predictable sliding behavior: go from grip to slide very gradually. While some other wheels grip and then, as soon as they slide, you are on ice and taken by surprise.
@DownhillinlineJourney3 ай бұрын
@@downhillwings Hey, thanks that's great to know! I've been riding the Powerslide infinity 2 85as and they aren't too bad but I'm keen to try hydrogens or even the Iqons you mentioned in the future!

How do I vote for SlowUps here in U.S.? lol
@downhillwings3 ай бұрын
There's something special about moving through your environment with your own physical energy, even if it's at a slower pace than a car. It's an acquired taste, and in a place built for cars, it can be hard to develop that taste and foster a less car-centric culture. While this improves, you are welcome to visit and join a few SlowUps in the summer with your skates :)
