i find the adelaide announcements funny. and it might just be me, i find the monotone less distracting then the other announcements from other cities. theres a new adelaide announcement that i find irratating. just keep it simple.

The Sydney train announcements are crystal clear and easy to understand, the voice is pleasant unlike the TTS some other cities use, I find the on board announcements to be tolerable and less irritating than Brisbane and I also love how the station announcements sound.

Gotta love the comengs, especially the EDI refurb ones because they have a clear destination board and that as soon as they pick up speed the vibrations under the floor stop, unlike the Alstom ones that at all times shake the floor more than a VLocity.

I'm mostly familiar with Comengs and Xtrampolines. It could just be because I'm used to them, but I find their noises far more lowkey and relaxing. Was quite shocked how screeching the Siemens sounds on arrival and departure - don't know if I would ever get used to that squeeling noise.

I'd prefer Adelaide's tram announcements. I'm biased towards Adelaide as I lived there entirely for my whole life. The door chimes on the Flexity tram sound different to the Alstom Citadis 302 tram, especially when closing, but it wasn't mentioned in this video. When the tram departs the stop/station in Adelaide, the on-board announcement sometimes goes 'The doors are about to close, please stand clear'; Although, its far more common for Adelaide's trams to close the doors only with chiming sounds, unlike in other major Australian state capital cities that always use verbal warning.
@kdpt83764 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing this info, I’m not very familiar with Adelaide trams!

As a resident who is born and raised in Adelaide (Kaurna land), this is such a fantastic video! 👍👍👍 It would be better if you can do a complication of Adelaide's on-board train announcements for all stations on the train network as a longer video (10 to 20 minutes). Keep up the good work, and remember: 'Please mind the gap'. 🚉
@kdpt83764 ай бұрын
Thank you!! I don’t live in Adelaide, but will consider recording and compiling a longer video if I travel there again :)

For me, Adelaide has the best on-board train announcements. A lot of comments complain about how bad or cringey Adelaide's voice announcement is, but once you hear it many times, it will start to grow on you. This statement might be controversial as not everyone will agree with me, and that's fine as we're allowed to have our own preferences by engaging in a civil discussion. Other Australian cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane have the generic accent for Australian English. Adelaide's on-board sound sets it part from the rest, and in my own opinion, it's the most unique of all.
@kdpt83764 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting and for sharing your thoughts. Adelaide certainly has the most unique announcements!
