When you was there? Sad Guindaste Viewpoint, it is closed, I will be there in December, and i think it will be closed too :(

@@picturetheworld I would understand that you should not go to the very edge of the cliff, but if you stop in the middle, I think everything is safe. How much money-fines could be if i go there and polices and I get caught? i know it's not right..

To be honest, I’m not sure how much the fine will be for those who go there. But I’m sure there is a reason why they closed it, so we just have to respect it ☺️

Jordan looks a Heavenly place with lovely people 💜 & you got the Treasury area to yourselves! I love that! I assumed it was crowds dawn to dusk. Hope those donkeys are OK with being stood on, guess those guys are quite light. I'm not religious but I'd say all visitors should be respectful & cover body bits, when others are around. Actually I feel the same in my own country! Maybe I'm part-Victorian. I hope Jordan can stay a peaceful oasis for its people & polite visitors, free of hormonal man-conflict 💚

If we wish to go in only one direction: Pico de Arreiro to Pico Ruivo, can we find taxis at the other end (Pico Ruivo) to take us down to Funchal if we feel tired to go back to pico de Areiro? Any info would be great. Thank you.

Hi there! Thank you for kind words ☺️ Yes, you can find transport options at Achada do Teixeira, the trail exit near Pico Ruivo, but taxis won’t always be waiting there since it's pretty remote. It’s a good idea to book a taxi in advance, just to be safe. You also organize transport back to Funchal with tour companies, which can be super convenient 🚕 Another option is to grab a taxi to Santana, a nearby town, where you’ll have better luck finding rides back to Funchal. These days, there are also companies offering a shuttle service for this hike. They’ll drop you off at Pico do Arieiro and pick you up at Pico Ruivo, so you don’t have to hike back. Just do a quick search for “Madeira hiking shuttle service” or “Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo pick-up service” and you’ll find some options 🚌 Sites like Viator or GetYourGuide also have services like this 📌

Hi there! Thank you for kind words 😍☺️ the whole hike took us around 7 hours. This is with making photos and videos. So without shooting and filming it would take us around 6 hours. You can start trail at Pico do Arieiro (that’s how most of people do) or at Pico Ruivo - and the. Go to Pico do Arieiro. It’s better to start at Pico do Arieiro 😊 it’s rewarding then to get to Pico Ruivo (which is the highest point of Madeira 😉

At the end of Sao Lourenco hike, at the hut, you can pay a small fee and take a boat ride back to the marina instead of backtracking on the same path; well worth it!

Well, Madeira doesn’t have the warmest water. However the water temperature remains very pleasant all year round, ranging between 19°C/66°F (winter) and 24°C/75°F (summer) 🌡️The best months to swim in the sea are August and September, when the average ocean temperature is 24°C (75°F). But in the natural pools water is always a bit warmer. So it’s so nice to swim there 🥰
