An honest question, I guess you do abt 35wpm. Am I correct? Aren't you afraid you will miss people because they cannot copy that speed? Would doing 25-30 wpm be better? What are your thoughts on that?
@nt6x528
@nt6x528 8 ай бұрын
Hi Rene, I will send between 32 and 35 wpm. 95% of callers are just clicking on spots. They already have my call and can usually recognize their call coming back to them, even at higher speeds. However, do slow down to match the speed of the guy calling me.

N4KGL displayed as a Dupe at 49:27 but still had 2 points allocated. Is that correct. My dupes on N1MM don’t get points in the ARRL 10 meter contest. I’m wondering if I had something set up wrong (new to N1MM)

Nice run! Does lower side tone help listening fatigue
@nt6x528
@nt6x528 Жыл бұрын
Jay, yes it does. There was a DXing article written many years ago by ON4UN (I think?) that talked about receiving weak signals through QRM/QSB. It suggests that a lower sidetone makes for an easier copy which I totally agree. I use a 450 hz tone.

Did not enter this year, nor will i ever compete in any contest organised by CQ magazine since they followed the cretins who run the RSGB in deciding that the average radio amateur in Russia are somehow responsible for the invasion of ukraine, politics and ham radio are not meant to be mixed. Good video by the way.

Curious why you chose to run at .94 instead of .00 or .90 or .95 Such a peculiar frequency choice and explains why so many of your contacts sounded off frequency. Is there a reasoning behind it? I see later in the video you also use .82 I'm guessing it's just to avoid nearby interference best possible?
@nt6x528
@nt6x528 Жыл бұрын
Yes, avoiding QRM is the goal, and .94 is where it was clear. I don't pay particular attention to my .xx frequency. I aggressively use the RIT to catch callers just outside my passband.
