I think that shed or whatever it is off on the right just detracts a bit. It causes too many focus points. And it would be nice to be able to see closer up, especially during the talking parts. But I imagine it probably looks even better in person, and it's obvious that a lot of work was put into it.

I ended up taking the z axis apart and reassembling. Works like a dream now. I've been printing odds & ends. With a new nozzle it's like a new printer.

idk how this video came up on my feed but your z axis looks like it might be skewed. It might just be the camera angle or something but the z axis sounded weird too so i'd guess a mechanical issue like that?

Hey Dwayne! Hoping to be able to walk in a few weeks. It's been a long 3 months after ankle surgery. Glass is a 300mm 2.8 with a 2x. Been watching your videos. I don't really fish but it's fun to watch :)

Thanks Doug.... this is very very helpful. I think I am going to have to get a newer computer. My 7 year old laptop is having issues with the Xlights program. It crashes when I do an "output to lights" I need a new computer anyway. Where did you get most of your lights? Holidaycoro? Thanks again

I got them from various sources. My first pixels I ordered through HolidayCoro with my Alphapix. Then I ordered 10 more strings on Amazon. I am waiting for 25 strings I got on a pre-sale through diyledexpress. There are some on Amazon now for around $13/string of 12V bullets if you order 10. They have 22AWG wires which some people say are not good enough but they have worked for me so far. The Holidaycoro are nice because they come with weatherproof connectors. If you are ever in the market for a new controller you should get the Falcon, it is really a step above the Alphapix. I understand the computer thing. You don't need a real power house for xLights but it wouldn't run on my 10 year old mac mini or an old laptop running XP. I'm doing all my dev on a 5 year old home built PC running W10. Then I'm going to load everything into a Pi. Xlights does work fine on my LOR CTBPC 16. I had issues trying to get it to run with a serial line so I switched it to E131 and no more issues.

No I am dumping LOR for xLights. Once you get the hang of it things are much easier for pixels. LOR did a great job getting me interested in sequencing but it is a real pain to do pixels with it. I did this simulation using xLights. I'm going to run a Raspberry Pi into a Falcon F16V3 and then that feeds an Alphapix 16 and then that feeds the LOR AC controller. I'm still working on the sequences. I just finished getting my GECE lights working using the Falcon. They are going to line the yard. If you are interested in xLights and haven't already joined the xLights forum do so ASAP. A lot of great info and people. Also doityourselfchristmas forum has a lot of info.
