I rented a Chevy Equinox from Alamo in PHX. The choices was this or a Nissan Rogue. The Equinox is better than the Rogue as I have rented both months apart. The Chevy seems to have a regular torque converter transmission. The Rogue has a CVT. The Equinox had satisfactory acceleration when merging on a Interstate. The Rogue did not. In fact I thought it was frighteningly slow to merge safely. There are other reasons, but the Equinox was the better vehicle to rent. The Equinox I rented was made in Mexico.

There has always been something about Ford I dislike. Whether it is design choices, or just the overall flow of the vehicle. hard to describe I guess. That said, my dad had a 2005 Ford Ranger that he sold still running with 500,000+ miles on it. I had a 2017 Ford Fusion, and it looks really good outside, but the interior was just meh and I generally dislike the interiors of Fords (Mustang not included). The Edge is a nice SUV, especially the ST, but it would not be my first choice. New cars are way overpriced.

2024 Passport Blk Edition. V6 and regular tranny not a CVT rock One plus. Two SH-AWD way better then the stuff in a Slowaru. Three just as dated as a Forerunner. If you want serious off roading, then Forerunner is the OG. Only need two row seating. My two weens don't need a third row to remove. So I don't need the Pilot. CRV too small. So the Passport is a good meet ya in the middle. High center of gravity that someone complained about, aren't all SUV's higher then a sedan, just saying. Fuel milage is not great. Okay I can accept that. However, I have a V6 and when I need to tow, I can tow up to 5000 lbs. If I didn't need to two then I would buy a 2.0 litre turbo that would get better MPG but not the longevity of a normally aspirated V6 that has been in service in different Honda vehicles for 20 years, right? Just like the Forerunner, a very dated but SOLID engine and tranny. Nuff said. Love mine. Different strokes for different folks.
