Hi, Terry. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Continental Contact Urban tires - very much appreciated since you've had a very good amount of experience with them over many miles. Great channel - liked and subscribed. I just became a new Brompton owner last week and am every excited about using it for touring. I also found your Facebook group. It's an excellent group and thank you for that, too. Cheers!

I'm not an expert but I'd guess not being noticed is the first aim. Along these lines I think bright coloured tents or 'blingy' bikes and bright lights are best avoided. I've seen a video account of a wild camper who had a dog walker stop and chat. They told the camper they knew someone was nearby when they smelt bacon cooking.🤭 Well done Terry, I hope it encourages more to try it; You planned camp looks in a lovely spot. Thanks for the video.

hey Terry, you insprired me to my first wildcamp, on this hill at the end of my trip through Wales. before returning to London to catch my train, I decided to follow the Strawberry line and the Cheddar Gorge (unfortunately the road there was closed for a few days), did not have this spectacular weather with sunset, but nice enough and very windy at night... Thanks for this inspiration and all your videos!

I've never been but an ex-colleague had a relation on the islands and loved it there. His wife had a bad experience with the ferry due to the rough seas so he then used a helicopter flight from Penzance. I don't think it was cheap but he only had to chip in for the food for his two week holiday. I remember one year he had two weeks of rain. Most other times he came back with a tan.

It’s a beautiful place reminds me the Greek islands when the sun is shining. But yes, it’s relatively difficult and expensive to get to. Our ferry crossings were good but we did meet some people with bad experiences, a new ferry starting soon and that may improve the experience

I can get 100 miles on my e bike. 48 volt 24amp battery 250 watt. Fat tyred folding bike and british company with Chinese parts from a reputable Chinese factory that does everything in one factory unlike some chinese factories who do one thing then get other parts from other factories. You're not knowing then if they all have the best workmanship involved. The owner of the company I got my bike from visited the factory to make sure he would be getting the best parts and the best workmanship involved.

Nice one Terry, lovely views and not far away. The tent really blends in with the landscape, great for stealth camping. I follow 'Andy's Adventures' and I enjoy films of his camping trips. Recently some rotter stole his bike, not while camping but on a train! Hoping he gets another and continues camping and filming. At least you can fold the Brompton and keep it near you. I'm guessing the Brompton is all nicely bedded in after it's major overall. If you make a film about wild camping perhaps you could cover getting discovered and moved on? It would be something that worries me. Thanks for sharing your short trip.

Great video! How long after owning your new lacquered Brompton to the rest start appearing? Also I’m wondering which bike is best to buy that has the least amount of rust challenges. I live in the United States, Virginia, Central, Virginia specifically it’s Sunny most of the time nowhere near as much rain as you get in the uk. The fact that you write in the rain a lot more be a reason why you find you’re getting rust on your bikes? Thanks for the answers, I’m looking to get a new Brompton this fall, either a four-speed or 12 speed electric, for day-to-day commuting in my Hilltown, and I would replace the wheel and leave the battery at home, with one like yours on this video, for touring in Europe, one day, one day,

@@terrysallbikes these are tires in size 29 and 55 mm wide. Two years without a puncture and they still look like new, without the slightest scratch. I use them for road riding, although they drive well on sand and even on rocks. And they are simple, not like the SCHWALBEs I had with problem. No tire run-out on DT rims. They are fast, recently on Saturday on a distance of 8 km I kept a speed of about 40 km/h on an MTB bike, overtaking road bikes;> Great tire and the next one will also be Conti Urban but maybe 47 mm / regards

Terry, I appreciate that you called this a "review" but it really wasn't. Perhaps this is cultural, but in my mind, a "review" is a critique, usually with plusses and minuses, likes and dislikes, what the reviewer would consider a product's strengths and weaknesses. In the end, a review would provide the reader, or viewer, with a concluding "thumbs-up" or "thumbs-down." Anyway, that is what first drew me to watch the video.

Chains usually come with excess links so you can fit it to the bike of your choice. A chain link tool is your friend. When locking or opening the modern split links, I use a pair of slip-link pliers diagonally across the link. Across the wide sides to close it, the other way to open. This video assumes that your bike is fully clean. The jockey wheels on the tensioner will likely need to be dismantled for cleaning and re-lubrication. Much advised. On an early Brompton, use a medium -sized flat screwdriver. Later bikes need an allen key. The tensioner arm jockey-wheel screw is a little fiddly to get at, as you need to access through the wheel spokes. I take my whole adjuster mechanism off for a full strip (15mm spanner needed for the axle outer nut, and you will have to disconnect the gear-shift cable first). Brompton provides washers in this mechanism to facilitate alignment of the jockey wheels with the rear wheel sprocket. Make sure you put them back in the right places. On rear sprocket wear - the 1/8" sprocket on a Sturmey Archer hub is reversible, without affecting the chain line. If it's a bit worn, you can turn it around, and it is functionally a new one. No-one but you will know. I just did that on my 1991 T5 when fitting a new chain, yesterday.
