Just want to say that in America we want more small cars but our manufactures refuse to sell us small affordable and efficient cars because they are too busy getting around the EPA loophole of making bigger and bigger cars to get around make them more fuel efficient. When the Ford Maverick came out its started selling well because it was a small affordable truck instead of the oversized pedestrian killers we have today. The amount of Kei Trucks and Vans being imported to the US is crazy and it's gotten to the point that some states started banning them (more then likely brought on by ford and GM because people aren't buying their $90,000 tanks anymore) I own a Kei Van and it's getting the job done and the amount of people in my area that started buying kei trucks and vans for their business or just a fun commuter car to do things in are rising. So to make a long story short. Us Americans want small cars
@RedzToxic4 күн бұрын
1st par. Completely agree, me and my one friend always talk about how America could heavily benefit from small cars in many aspects, some of which are emissions and cost. 2nd par. Once again agree with you there, I've heard and know that they're banning cars that outperform the domestic market, because they're too damn stubborn to change and do what people want. The current American market for cars just sucks and foreign cars just out perform them 6 fold. Also love that you have one lmao, keep that thing in good shape and keep having fun in it. hopefully I can just try one out just for fun. :D

@RedzToxic20 күн бұрын
That's interesting, first time hearing someone prefer a DCT to a manual. Was it in terms of performance or fun that you liked it better?
@Tox1cAshes20 күн бұрын
@@RedzToxic Might be a large Nostalgia factor speaking because this was the first car I saw a DCT in ever, but the manual 5spd in the later evos always felt dated to me. Car is revving high all the time, the powerband isn't quite right, and I'm otherwise sitting in this technical marvel of a sedan and still rowing the gears myself. The DCT feels like an actual evolution, a big step forward in terms of speed, technicality and reliability than the old 6spd manual. I also enjoy the click clack of the paddles.

Each one of us has his/her own criteria, but for me it is very simple : the best Porsche of each generation is the one which brings you the utmost driving pleasure. Which doesn’t necessarily make it the fastest 911 with the best lap times. To an important percentage of 911 owners, lap times are irrelevant because they don’t go on track or racing. A simple Carrera of the eighties with a mere 210 horses could very well be someone’s best 911. As Luke stated himself, you can enjoy a 911 on mountain passes where serious speed is either impossible or not allowed. 😎
@RedzToxic20 күн бұрын
Completely agree and fair. It's a subjective matter on what someone could think "the best 911" is. I was trying to say in terms of track and all out performance. But I do agree with you for street, it's the one that gives you more enjoyment. :D

Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi own Mitsubishi Motors, both Renault and Nissan have High Performance car lines, They will not build a car that is in competition with their own designs, that is why the Evo is dead. Small high performance cars have less leverage on the road and higher center to wheelbase ratio's making them less stable and also much less room for crumple zones / energy dissipation.

Unfortunately the next EVO is looking like it’s gonna be an E-VO. Part of their 5 year plan is a new or refreshed model every fiscal year from 26-30 and all signs are pointing to the lancer being replaced on the global market with a hybrid/ev crossover platform(now that they’re discontinued in china and Taiwan) and bringing the evo name to that to boost sales if they do as poorly as ford and GM in the EV market.. I feel that unfortunately, due to the waning attention the top brass have given the automotive division in the last 20 years, Mitsubishi as an enthusiast car company is effectively dead. I can’t say I know anyone who cares about or touches anything that isn’t an Evo eclipse or 3000gt which they haven’t made in 7 13 and 24 years respectively (except for my buddy José who has a sick Montero overlanding build). Why try to make money making cool cars when you already make all your money from the heavy machine industry and nuclear energy. I mean hell, if I invented the dadgum APWR nuclear reactor I wouldn’t waste time making sports cars either ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edit: ur content is really good and you make your point quickly and concisely. Keep up the great work!
@RedzToxicАй бұрын
Unfortunately I think you're correct. I've seen bits and things of their new plan thang and of them reviving old nameplates just to make them so horride creations that makes okay amount of money and tainting the nameplate and history. I wouldn't mind too much a hybrid lancer of sorts, however a pure and all out Evo should stay mechanical, but due to the rising bs of EV's it's making it harder and harder to make such a wonderful car. I'll be honest I'm not the biggest fan of their other enthusiast cars, however that doesn't mean they should be overshadowed. But for the most part you're right, I always talk with my friends that Mistu should come back and make fun cars, but their automotive division is so small and barely makes anything. So why bother pouring in money into something that barely gets back? Like you said. Thanks for the feedback, I try to be just direct and genuine as possible. :D

It wouldn't matter. A better platform would have been to use their Mirage and that's going. And Nissan's Sentra is also going. I don't imagine going with Nissan would be good, since their modern quality control is kinda dog water. I get the idea though, using a small economic car and put some cool stuff inside would kinda result in the Evo all over again. Though again, one is subcompact and a whole different nameplate. I get it if you aren’t able to access these cars, but if you only look at spec sheets and lap times, you’re doing all of them a disservice. There is so much that just doesn’t translate from paper. Sounds like a cliche, but they have to be experienced to understand. Example. I bought one of my childhood hero cars, a very nice ZR1. It is quicker and has a much higher top speed than my 911, but I take the 911 out 9 times out of 10. It is a much more enjoyable car to drive. If I never had the 911, I would have been happy with the Z. However, the Z feels numb in comparison. These old Porsches ruin other cars for the owner. Kind of an apples to oranges comparison, but that’s what I have to work with. Edit-@drensik Where’s my Porsche? Well, in my garage of course. I can't believe Mitsubishi had one the most iconic line up cars: Eclipse, Galants, Evo's and the Rallyart cars but through it all to waste in favour of green bullshit. While i can't speak for the actual Japanese Domestic Market, i wonder if the Japanese people that grew up seeing Mitsubishis fly down dirt tracks draped in Marlboro feel like the company has not only dropped the ball: they threw it off a cliff. If Mitsubishi belongs to the merger of Renault-Mitsubishi-Nissan and has worked with Mercedes in the past, what if a Evo 11 could be based off the A-Class or Renault Rally Car Homoligation underpinnings and drive train? Newest Altimas/Sentras being tuned by Rallyart to replace the Galants? Maybe produce a drivers-car based on the newest Nissan Z, remove the turbos and make it super lightweight and call that the New Eclipse but still make it tuneable?
@RedzToxicАй бұрын
You know, as much as I agree with you. It's modern Mitsubishi. They're gonna do shit about it nor care. Even their most prominent car like the Evo, which sold in large and great quantities especially 8 - 10 models. They didn't know what to do with the money, they didn't know how to reinvested it. They thought they could do whatever they'd would like. Which led to the downfall. I do know of the unfortunate merger of the Renault-Mitsubishi-Nissan, being with them is only gonna make things worse. Because, Mitsubishi is the backbone of both the brands. Lot of Nissan's and Renaults cars outside of American market rely on Mitsu (ie rebadging). Further more if they were to use the new Z's platform, it would be a coupe so wouldn't make much sense, and EVEN then it's not a good idea because Nissan's QA has gone done so much it's not even funny. They're slowly pulling out some cars from their markets because they're just failing. And Renault? Well they're French lmao. A Mercedes would be cool, however A class never has been an impressive car nor do they care for it. It's just a cheap low tier model to get into their brand. And the whole idea falls through again because they're not partnered with them again. The reality is, if we wanted to have the pure and real Evo 11. It would need to be done souly, by Mitsubishi.
