That Africa produces less than 2% of the world's intellectual resources is completely unacceptable and therefore offers a great oppotunity for ADEA to address this decifit through concrete and deliberate efforts. It must engage all concerned and begin to create opportunities for enabling African researchers write not only papers but textbooks in science and technology and other areas of knowledge as well. It must be remembered that this is a multi billion dollar business. Continents who took their research and publishing sectors seriously are reaping big from it.
