The improvements are in 3 areas. 1/ you are or placing a c1990 computer with a modern one, along with modern sensors, better coils injectors etc you get very much improved part throttle and low rpm response, and improved top end due to increased ignition advance due to higher octane fuels. 2/ You future proof the engine electronics as the 30+yo sensors wear or fail often it’s very expensive to replace them that’s if you can find them. This setup also has flex fuel so you can run E85 (Ron105) fuel or a mix which will slightly improve power and response in NA engine and with FI engine massive improvements can be had 3/ The last major benifit if you want to upgrade the hardware like cams, or even install forced induction you can control it precisely.

I’d be surprised if the scraper are actually effective enough to be detrimental. On the m20 the oil drain back don’t go all the way to the bottom of the block so there will always be a bunch of more oil landing on the crank getting flung about than some of the more modern engines
