I write and play too. I totally understand about navigating a song to the end... It's hard to be nailing a great song and just fall flat. See you at Blue highway fest. Hope I can get a picture with ya! 🍻

Good to see you're doing well. Not sure my name will show up but you'll know who this is if you think about Wed nights playing cards in my basement and the golf trip to Vegas with no golf. Hope you still get to play some.

The acronym GOAT was a term coined by modest, shy, retiring Muhommad Ali about himself, and it's become a widely used term thorughout our language.

I remember years ago talking to the great Bobby Osborne backstage at MOA and I asked him if he ever got tired of singing Rocky Top and what he said always stuck with me. “Son, that song fixed it to where I never worried about where my next meal was coming from. I sing it everyday till the day I die.” I’m glad Dan feels the same way about Constant Sorrow cause I’ll never get tired of hearing it.

There are to many dots that connect for to many people for it not to be about Billy Strings. Maybe with a hint of Michael Clevelands story shoehorned in there. Not to say either dropped out of school to pursue making music. There's enough info for that to make plenty of sense though.

I'll always remember Dan's story about describing the movie with his song to his wife (whether it's actually true or not, I'm not sure). Dan tells that he was describing to his wife that George Clooney would be syncing to Dan's voice, and her response was, "that's my dream!" 🤣
