What a let down the warhead is ,recently picked up some ahtech infinity adjustable brushless motors, same manufacturer as the T238's just different brand and significantly cheaper than the T238 adjustable motors actually they cost me the same as what i paid for the 37k T238 QRBLS brushless motor
@xtairsoft12 күн бұрын
One thing to keep in mind is warranty on BL motors, do ahtech have a good repair service route?
@drewmurray648011 күн бұрын
@xtairsoft no idea tbh ,i had no idea that they were from the same manufacturer till i just happened to order a 48.5k adjustable after using the 37k QRBLS and was so happy with it and mentioned it to someone and they informed me that they were the same as the T238 so i thought stuff it order another one and a 39k version. I have swapped the pinion on most of my brushless, (including option n1 with O type) without disassembling them and never had issue. There is far more risk removing the board. For the Solink with large bearing at the end plate and D type, there is absolutely no need to disassemble it. Just make sure to press instead of hammer
@xtairsoft13 күн бұрын
Press fitting might work, I'd have to run some test. I found Solink to be quite tight compared to other motors, which is good. I did already damage one Solink motor bearing where I was lightly tapping to get the gear to fit. I'd be interested to see how well press fitting stacks up. I think some users might not even know the motor is damaged, I only noticed the damage as I was conducting heat tests between Warhead, T238 and Solink and I noticed a spike in the running temp after 40 secs noload. Otherwise I don't think I would have found the problem.
@giuroy12 күн бұрын
Nope, never press fit a pinion with a brushless motor. If yours is still working you’ve been lucky. I smashed the sensors and esc on my opt.1 that was probably one of the first in eu like 4 years ago. Definitely do not attempt to press fit a pinion without removing the esc and supporting the rotor on the other side.

Why not just Cool the shaft and heat the pinion?
@giuroy11 күн бұрын
@@needmoreboost6369 it will reduce the friction but can't guarantee that pressure needed is low enough to not damage support bearing and ESC.

@@giuroy agreed. My guess is some of the brushless manufacturers are looking into the issue on how to make pinion fitting easier, will be a unique selling point. Either QD controllers or a structure inside that braces the shaft.

A small but useful difference of the Solink is it's shorter, so its alot easier to wire it in different kinds of grips. And while having a shorter rotor and stator it still keep up the rpm and torque with the others.
@xtairsoftАй бұрын
Where did you find the stats for that? I'd be interested in seeing. Was that for the Solink Lite?
@wyz2285Ай бұрын
@@xtairsoft you can simply compare the motors and see the solink main body is shorter? And when you put it into the same AEG the ROF is still comparable as a normal sized brushless of same RPM.
@HikaruSwift1714 күн бұрын
@@wyz2285 I actually think the t238 motor is shorter than the solink. I have the solink v5 and the end bell design makes it longer than the t238. The solink lite motor looks visually longer than the solink v5 and the t238. Edit: (I have 2 t238 motors as well to confirm the size)
@wyz228514 күн бұрын
@@HikaruSwift17 The lite is shorter than any other brushless (not talking about full length, just where the wire plugs are, where some grip plate has less space for wires and this helps). You can also see in the Wyshtech's video where he compares Solink and T238

Greatly Appreciated as always! I tried some of the earlier Brushless motors and didn't get on with them much, but have been eyeing up the T238 and their newer blue can one that you test here. I have one of the older Solinks (Blue can "medium speed") which wasn't great, so good to see they've improved with the ones tested here.
@xtairsoftАй бұрын
Thanks, glad it helps. My Solink test motor has been pretty decent so far, only around 5k, was impressed with it being right on the correct RPM. Plan is to do a 5000 continuous shot test next and see how each motor holds up, record the temp of the motor etc.
@giuroyАй бұрын
KV rating is widely used with Brushless motor, indicates the rpm per volt applied. s in that case 2500kv*10v= 25k rpm. thanks for the great video, the only thing i'd suggest is to use a current meter in line to measure the voltage under load (small load roughly 2 amps when unloaded) and calculate the Kv of the motor. KV is the what we are really interested in because based on battery capacity and C rate will have voltage sag that will cause the motor to be slower; e.g small stick lipos will sag way more than a big brick, causing less output RPM. hope it make sense. Quick test of 3 of the motors I had lying around. Just wanted to see if the advertised RPM aligned with the reading I was getting with my tachometer. Hardly scientific. Don't read too much into the results as some motors have a +/- 10% margin in their no-load RPM. Lot of factors at play. If someone else with a better understanding on motors can add to my knowledge please feel free to post a comment.

Good to know, I always had a feeling there were a bunch of spring steels and grades out there, guess I shouldn't be surprised as there's so many steels in general. I'll have to look into making springs and what material to get as I've started to find myself needing odd springs and am unwilling to pay the ridiculous amount some people charge.
@xtairsoftАй бұрын
I was surprised as well with the amount of steel grades. I got samples made from 8 suppliers in China before I realised they aren't ever going to work. They all lost their power. In the end found a factory in another country that shipped over Japanese steel. Good to hear from you again, hope all is going well.

These springs are fantastic, even more so considering the price! If half a million cycles doesn't justify that already... Then over 2yrs ago, I installed 2X m150 in 2 high stress DSG builds firing between 51-55 RPS! Has been used and abused by a large team for private hired games on a regular basis. After a service to lubrication etc. the spring still performs at desired power! As well as a couple 25RPS LMGs that get the same treatment, and ALLOT of continuous suppression fire. - Over 3+ years pistons and gears have eventually worn, but not the spring!

Finally got round to doing a quick video with the packaging and a FPS test on the original M110 spring that I've been using for the past few years. All chrono is done on 0.2g to make it easier to compare with the spring rating. I did a magnified part showing a close look at the steel but don't think it tell you much to the untrained eye.

Are these Brushless motors more power efficient than standard SHS high torque 16 and 22 tpa motors or is there only a negligible difference? Thanks and keep up the great work :)
@xtairsoft2 ай бұрын
yes mate, about 30% less heat and uses slightly less power. No brushes so less dirty carbon buildup. The trade off is brushless has a circuit board with mosfet and other components on which can fry, but on the whole brushless much better but of course over twice the price.

These brushless have been awesome for making low /ms system response times off 7.4v-25c batts. 12:1 hitting 24rps off 7.4, is comparable to 13:1/27rps/11.v-25c. This is going to allow smaller batteries, which means more options for lower profiles on the weapon(AEG)

Interesting the plating is coming off. Action Army barrels seems to have a really thick plating for what they are, but they're a bit wavy. Also interesting this is a bronze and not brass, I bet that drives up the manufacturing costs
@xtairsoft9 ай бұрын
Does seem a little strange, bronze more expensive than brass, brass more expensive than stainless steel. Looks like the barrel is made from a mold, nothing wrong with that. Maybe you get better result with bronze from a mold. I had a peek inside an electroplated Madbull I think (roughly same age) and saw similar. The website claims 6.03mm chamber end and 6.35mm crown end but I measure much differently. It's the same thing we chatting about a while back, how difficult it was for manufacturers to mass produce inner barrels to those precise measurements.
@xtairsoft9 ай бұрын
The TNT is 8 months old, decent usage and was cleaned inside. The wider bore end resulted in a 10% drop in fps which I kinda expected when compared with a 6.01mm inner barrel but a decent enough BB flight.
