When barry come back to current time everything is changed,he has no speed and og harison wells and his wife are alive and in 2019 they make particle accelerator and barry gain is speed. Now story continues and we saw og timeline events just like thawne mentioned. And after some sessions we see this night scene where baary and thawne go back in time and thawne killed Barry's mom.

There's no polite way to put this so I'm going to be blunt, through no fault of their own - Eddie Thawne and Linda Park were the weakest characters of the Flash. I blame that 60-70% on the writers and 30-40% on the actor and actress because Emily Bett Rickards proved that you can go from excess baggage to an MVP within a few episodes. The reason why this never happened for Linda or Eddie is because there was no real significant growth on the part of the characters, it's the same thing that caused Supergirl's Winn Schott and James Olsen to lose their shine. They never moved beyond being sidekicks for Kara Danvers. Eddie needed an edge, needed something that was going to set him apart from the rest of the cast. They could have taken inspiration from Arrow's Quentin Lance but they didn't. I would also add that there was NEVER a real concern of the Flash being upstaged by Eddie or Linda honestly as Caitlin Snow and Cisco proved. Another character that was also strangely handicapped was Kid Flash. You never got the feeling EVER that Wally was going to be a successor to Barry, at least they teased the notion of Mia Smoak carrying on her father's legacy.
