I think theres no 'original copy'. What we already see before is bad vhs bootleg copy from the theatre release. Alas i don't see it in theatre when it first release . So i cannot compare. Maybe better from the 1970 version or looked the same as in theatre.

Wow, the improvement is remarkable. For example, look at Georges hair at the 1:14 mark it looks an indistinct blob in the original version and you can see the individual strands in the improved version. Greatly improved video definition in the new version and that goes for the audio too!

@@elmerseiscientos that's exactly what im asking you, where was the original film and why did we had to wait for Disney to release it publicly 50 years after? 😅
@elmerseiscientos2 ай бұрын
@@VITOLINOBOSS I assume that the original film was stored along with the rest of the film that Peter Jackson rescued and restored for his documentary. Fortunately, the restoration of the film Let It Be has been done respecting the original texture and colors, as Lindsay-Hogg requested, better than Jackson's documentary. The reasons we've had to wait 50 years for this are beyond me.
@elmerseiscientos26 күн бұрын
@maxironsledge The film shown in theaters at the time did not need any restoration. It was a 35mm print taken directly from the 16mm original. Any film stored for 50 years has deterioration and needs to be restored to look like it did when it was produced. Does this really have to be explained? Oh please!

@greenwich17542 ай бұрын
Still don't see the attraction/hype for this. The whole reason it was shelved for over 50 years was that it was supposedly, a depressing look at the growing acrimony of a band about to break up. Enter the 2021 3 part documentary (which I still haven't seen) that showed, ostensibly, quite the opposite - the band having fun. The lighting was better, the atmosphere much lighter. So the rehash of "Let It Be" is going to top the 3 part documentary?? Right!

I’ll be ready for the bootleg DVD of the new print, which WILL get out regardless. You don’t mess with Beatle collectors. You’ll get your hand bitten.

Thanks for the comparison. Major difference. I was waiting for this for years and am happy that they didn't mess up and make it wide screen
@bobholtzmann2 ай бұрын
For me, that movie was dark and grainy, even when I saw it in the theater. Back then, the film distributors must have made 2nd and 3rd generation copies of it, to get wider distribution. Either that, or the original footage was 16mm, like the Concert for Bangladesh film.
@DLZ20002 ай бұрын
It was 16mm, then matted to get from a 4:3 picture to a 16:9 picture. The home video release was further cropped to 4:3 from the 16:9 matting. This is the first time we get to see the film in its full frame, and not zoomed in.
@bobholtzmann2 ай бұрын
@@DLZ2000 It's wonderful that they still had the original edited master film, and not the reduced prints to get extra imagery. I know that EMI made sure all the Beatle stuff was archived, or we would never have had the Get Back documentary. Looking forward to seeing it.

I was watching the Martin Scorsese doc about George Harrison last night, and they had some footage from the Get Back sessions in it (obviously pre-Peter Jackson) and it’s incredible how clear the remix of the sound is, it was nearly impossible to hear the dialogue in the old version of the footage
