Thanks for all the info in this video! I like how you are willing to chat with the viewers and share your knowledge. For anyone who might be reading, How long have you guys spent on research before purchasing your first cutter? It's a little overwhelming how many different options you can choose from and there isn't one that has perfect reviews there's always some complaining about something. I know nothing will have perfect reviews but some make me a little nervous. So far it seems like Uscutters has a decent brand and great customer service and that Graghtec is the best out of any. I then heard servo motors are better so I looked at the Titan 2. I don't know if I should spend a little more for a servo or just grab a cameo 5 plus or the Mh 871 I definitely know I don't want Vevor from all the complaints I have read on customer support and when I was interested in them I asked them what model was in the package 28inch 8 in 1 kit they sent me multiple emails saying they are looking into it. I have a couple of weeks before I will be making the Investment so a lot more videos and reading. I appreciate any advice you pros have. After hearing in the video the customer won't know the difference I felt a little better but I also want to enjoy the machine I buy and be able to make large-quality decals for cars and wall art so I don't think I want to get a cameo 4 if anything maybe the 4 pro or 5 plus I know I'm all over the place smh

I have the Silhouette Alta+, and it's absolute trash. And technical support is nonexistent. I have yet to obtain a decent print from it, and I so regret buying it. Many people claim to be able to get decent prints from it, but I haven't been as lucky. I also have an Ender 3 Neo, and the difference is like night and day.

@MattVassallo Жыл бұрын
If it were me, I would test quite a lot with settings and blades, and write down what's working out. We have a few blades on site, but you may not need them if you can get your machine dialed in perfectly. Many people use cutters of various brands for scrapbooking, and cutting cardstock, so thicker materials is possible. If they're really thick, be sure to try double cutting as well if the blade isn't going through the first round. -TRW Crystal

Can I press it with an iron? Do I have to use the easy press ?
@MattVassallo Жыл бұрын
You can use a home iron, but there's a few things to consider with it. Many irons have steam holes. These can kind of offset your temp when pressing in those hole areas, along with not getting pressure to those areas. It's still possible to do, just lift (do not slide the iron, when the adhesive is bonding you can slide your full design and shift things you don't want shifted). So press, lift, move the iron, press, lift, repeat. Be sure you're trying to match the pressure it needs as well along the way. Another thing to think about is getting a digital thermal heat temp gun and testing the heat coming from your iron to be sure it's the temp needed for the material. They're affordable, and a great investment. Here's one of our faves: www.amazon.com/dp/B082Z2PNRB?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamztherhi01-20&creativeASIN=B082Z2PNRB&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.3QJPYL39HBRAE&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_d_asin We have a treasure trove of items we use but do not sell from Amazon linked on our home page at TheRhinestoneWorld.com under the Products We Love thumbnail. Lastly, if you make the investment into a press, a more professional press costs in the same range as the Easy Press. Honestly, we do not like the easy press for a few reasons. It's hard to get proper pressure since it's basically a large home iron. And they're notoriously off on temp, so you'll for sure need a temp gun (you will with any press though, you want to check the health of your press monthly). The one you see Matt use in a few videos, is anywhere from 60 to 100 degrees cooler than it's screen is reading out. This will cause failure in your products that you sell. Stones popping off and vinyl peeling. This is also why in craft groups you see people literally standing on their easy press thinking it's a pressure issue, when it's really a failure to heat issue. We have several videos on our other channel, The Rhinestone World, showing how to check for cold spots as well as an Ask Matt going over a lot of the details as well. :-) -TRW Crystal

We have just over 4 thousand videos on our other channel: The Rhinestone World showing just that :-) Here's one discussing the cutters and what to choose, although we have others where he does a performance test. In our best advice - we would avoid Cricut. The Silhouette Cameo just has much better software and it's more user and design friendly by far. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ-uaWyAg9-opMU -TRW Crystal

How big are your car vinyl designs? And is the application tape used here, is it high tack or low tack?
@jerrydahlheimer7236 Жыл бұрын
Nnnnn
@MattVassallo Жыл бұрын
It depends a bit on what the customer wants for size. A decent size is roughly 5x5 or 6x6 while keeping it proportional. Here's the app tapes we have on site, which this also depends a bit on what material you're using. www.therhinestoneworld.com/search.asp?keyword=APPLICATION+TAPE Metallic may need a higher tack but not always. If you use our medium tack grid tape (my personal preference) then you can flip the decal over after applying the tape, and roll the backing off which breaks the indent seal the blade makes into the backing. Replace, and you're good to go. Our other channel, The Rhinestone World, has thousands of tips and tricks videos ;-) -TRW Crystal

Are HTV Anything and Bling Anything the same material?
@MattVassallo Жыл бұрын
No. It used to be in the past but we've since invented and produced HTV Anything which is formulated to be easier to use with htv. Bling Anything - you press stones directly to it. HTV Anything - you press htv to it, and after that you can press stones to that on top if you wish. This rule can be broken because it's not a garment. Decals this is ok to do. Can we press permanent adhesive to the htv anything to make the cups more dishwasher safe?
@MattVassallo Жыл бұрын
Short answer, no. Do not put adhesive vinyl in a press, nor a microwave, etc as it can cause off gassing. If your press is evenly heated with no cold spots, then pressing htv to the HTV Anything, then applying to a smooth clean non textured surface, then yes it's top rack dishwasher safe. Matt has a video showing mugs with our decals inside the dishwasher with a go pro. Well how can I tell the difference between flatback. Glue on and hot fix stones
@MattVassallo2 жыл бұрын
On site they'll say either Hot-fix or Non-hotfix (flatback). The difference in person is easy to see, flip them over to peek at the backs. The flatbacks will have either a foil backing or none at all if they're clear. The Hot-fix will have a grayish heat activated adhesive pad on the back. Sometimes they're smooth, other times they have kind of a check pattern to them. -TRW Crystal

I just bought some of this and the Vinyl Shield! Question: Does the Vinyl Shield work with Siser PSV Permanent Glitter Vinyl?
@MattVassallo2 жыл бұрын
The best results yield from the more "flat" glitters. A lot of texture keeps it from getting a nice grab. The very best things to use vinyl shield for are over your delicate designs with fine cuts and to protect your opals from getting scratched. -TRW Crystal
