Wonder if there was another variation of this - my folks recorded Dumbo off of TV in 1989 (for my older bro, but I grew up watching the recording a lot!) and some of the commercials included one for Kiddie City, but IDK if it was quite the same as this, or if I am just mis-remembering.

Just watch this film after many years of watching this as a child . Now I have children . My daughter said she’ll pass this on to her children . Made me cry . This is nothing to do with being a monster it’s about how beautiful our hearts are to eachother sometimes humans are monsters and ugly but break down that ugliness and our hearts are as beautiful . Thank you so much for the post ❤️

RazzleShock, Your build looks fantastic!!! I’ve been using your cab as inspiration for my project. It’s funny because I did the same thing you did when I built my control panel for my converted Midway cab. I didn’t account for the lid going all the way back against the cabinet wall and there is a gap between the CP lid and the cabinet as well that I’m trying to account for :-) Quick question, what are you using for sound if you don’t mind me asking? Are you using computer speakers? Do you have a small amp in there? Sounds pretty good sir !! Thanks, Adam

fun fact this song was written by bruce broughton who composed the music for the film harry and the hendersons so its no surprise the beginning of love lives on sounds like the harry and the hendersons main titles
@danmurphy91732 ай бұрын
It was co-written by Barry Mann and Bruce Broughton (the music), and the lyrics by Cynthia Weil and Will Jennings. Mann and Weil are a prolific songwriting team that wrote a ton of hits that you’ve heard from the 60s and 70s and obviously beyond... Mann/Weil had a studio office in the same building as Carole King!

This version needs a Record Store Day release. I would put this on the A side and the standard single version on the B side. The original motion picture soundtrack version is good too but the 45 in the States was not easily found. I only have a copy of the single because I was in Italy visiting family in 1988 and that Record Store had one copy left from when it was released there.

I so miss Kiddie City and although I only had an Atari System that I shared with my Brother, this commercial brings me back to a happier time in America:). We had Pac-Man and other cool video games like Pit Fall. I just wish that America still had those Toy Stores. However, at least growing up in the 70s and 80s my Brother and I were blessed with 3 Toy Stores: Kiddie City, Kay Bee, and Toys R Us:). Those beautiful memories of Toy Shopping with my Late Grandparents and my Late Dad makes my "frown turn upside down":)!!

In the glass display case in front of the Sega Master System games, there is an Atari XE video game system with keyboard attached. Throughout the commercial, LOTS of NES stuff

This could very well be a tribute to Joe Cocker himself (as well as to countless others who have passed): Listen to the lyrics: Their love lives on beyond goodbye. The truth of them will never die. Their spirit shines long as they're gone (which they never are).
