Perfect example of practicing what you preach! 😆Your passion and knowledge came through in the tips. So many IOs blog or try to translate our research, but we need pro-level guidance like this. Would love to here Dr. J's ideas for how to help IO/Work Psychology get more well known in the world!

Why is the transcript in Portuguese?
@danieldevries26449 ай бұрын
wow, SIOP has changed in the last 15 years. I mean, of course it has, 15 years. But the culture, feel, and "style" just seem so starkly different in many of these KZbin videos. The only phrase I can use without sounding insulting is "less serious" or "more light-hearted". Frankly I'm not sure if I like this one bit, but can see it appealing to some younger SIOP members. Way of the future, I guess.

After graduating with a master in industrial organizational psychology does a student have to sit for a board exam to be officially considered a psychologist with a master degree

I'd really love to follow along with the transcript, but it's only in portuguese, looking into it, but sharing here, in case it's something on your end.

There was no mention of bringing in trauma specialists. It sounds like he's in a building full of traumatized people, and traumatized people don't act normally. Sounds like they need to work with everyone who experienced the trauma of Jan 6 directly, and the secondary trauma of observing it (for those who have come on staff since, or who weren't in the building on the day). I also have to say that this is the first reasonable, sane person I've seen discuss politics in years. I wish we could bottle his perspective and distribute it throughout our country right now. We will only be our best as a country when we can work together in unity. I hope this guy goes a long way in his political career.

I'm on the fence between Clinical Psychology and IO Psychology. I have a very problem-solving, tactical mindset that could be effective for an IO consulting position but combined with my pretty decent empathy could make a clinical psyche position good too. Anybody here have any insight as to which might be better? I'm already aware that IO makes more money for less overall time spent in education, but what are some of the other pros and cons of each?
@finnmurphy46982 жыл бұрын
I am in the same boat as you, buddy. Personally I'm leaning towards IO Psychology, I want to help people, but I hear Clinical can lead to people getting burnt out (which wouldn't be fun after the huge amount of time that went into the degree). With IO i could work with people, make good money, but the stress of a corporate job may get to me.

I thought my dilemma was soooo unique, I feel the same way. I was wondering if I/O is like designed for USA? I'm sure it's alive and well in other countries but seems like a USA thing since it involves work. (I would like to have a career where I have the possibility to emigrate easily)

@@vanessaharrigan1691 wow same here guys. I was really into clinical at the first but then I understood IO was more perfect for me?. Have you guys joined for the masters ? I'm planning to do my masters from europe. Do you guys have any suggestions or tips pls share. Thank you.
