and you made the details for the hull of the ship in advance and what kind of add-on that customized the horizontal details of the hull? or did you connect the vertices of the horizontal skin of the part , with the previous one already installed on the last selected vertex ?
@DenumSky2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I'm not sure if I really understand your comment, but no add-on was used in the making of this model. For the hull, I used curves and arrays with simples shapes. Hope that helps! =)

how do u make the planks stick like this with U-shaped wood?
@DenumSky3 жыл бұрын
Hey, I replied to your mail but I'll still put this here so everyone can see -First, you make a "slice" of the plank (I made 50cm long parts for this one) -Second, you use an array modifier to make it to length -Third, a curve modifier for the shape -Fourth, use Ctrl+T on the curve's vertex to tilt the plank in the correct position
@logiknotlogic65862 жыл бұрын

@realms_of_reality3 жыл бұрын
Incredible. Such jaw dropping detail. I couldn't find blueprints of the Russian ship you used but did manage to find good detailed drawings of the Mayflower 2. Is there any chance you can do a short demonstration on how you did all the individual planks along the hull. You mention below it's quite easy to do using curves. I'm new to blender but I've managed to follow along to get a good bit done. Applying the planks in the manner in which you demonstrate looks a real time saver. But I understand if you can't. I'll keep plugging away anyway.
@DenumSky3 жыл бұрын
Hello thanks for leaving a comment. The blueprints for the ship, I found them on www.shipmodell.com/index_files/0PLAN1A.html they have thousands of ship blueprints available for free in really high quality. About the planks I don’t have a lot more to say about that than what I already said, however as I might stream a bit this week end, I’ll gladly show you if you decide to come hangout a bit. @jul.smhhhh3 жыл бұрын
@@NotTank53 hello this might not be a response form someone you expect but I’ve been using blender for a while (4 months) and my tips are, Don’t rush detail start blocking out your mesh once you get a desired mesh tweaking the low poly shape before going all out and yknow smoothing. 2ad it doesn’t matter how bad your models look in comparison to others the only person you should be comparing your models to is yourself. I found out what he used for the planking, it was curves and an array modifier.

Your skills are really amazing. It's sad tho that your channel is not doing that great. Reason I see for this is that no one can follow the speed of your timelapses. Make a videos go a little bit slower, so that viewer can slow it further down with help of youtube. Also have a keyboard shortcuts showing. I haven't seen much of this quality work here on youtube and you'll definitely be big. keep it up, good luck to you!
@DenumSky3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, I plan on doing slower videos in the future, maybe even multipart series for bigger projects! But for the biggest projects like this one or the ship of the line, they take more than a hundred hours to make and I fear that slowing it down to a reasonable pace would make it too long, even for a multipart series All things aside, keep updated as my next big project may be coming in the middle/end of next month, and it will be a followable timelapse!
