Not always, point literally just up ahead, water fall is inside and outside track is fadter due to more boost pads. Here the popular meta and world records before were infact doing the outside lol.

FYI, he's saying "mag flip", which is short for "magnet flip". It's when your car attempts to "magnetize" towards a surface during a flip, which pulls you faster towards that surface with a hidden burst of speed that doesn't appear on the speedometer.
