Amazing. Great drumming! You nailed it. One of my favorite VH songs

One insane thing I’ve noticed through isolated tracks(he also did it live) is that at 16:30, before the single kick he’ll “ghost”/feather the kick drum for the 2 notes prior. Insane dynamics and it makes the beat sound so much fuller

I keep coming back to this. Love it. Given Al's upcoming book release, I'd love to join a chat/discussion about this particular song. I think we could spend a few hours on this recording and how it was a turning point for american hard rock. Seriously, it's a song that is a catalyst for a unique style of funk. Let's do a video stream!!! Love you man! keep up the good work. Peace

Heard this song for the first time and immediately knew that was ridiculously good drum playing! An actual van halen song that highlighted the drum, rather than Eddie's usual lead guitar playing, for a change! 👍

It's not "Out of love again" or "Out of love" the name of the song is "Outta Love Again". On the title and at the beginning of the video you got it wrong. Any true VH fan should know that. Great tune!

Undoubtedly my favorite drummer of all time. As a teenager, I would run upstairs in our regular café on the weekends to ask the DJ to play this song, only to go completely wild a little later to Terry's amazing drumming and, of course, the entire song.

Really enjoying working with this system, but there's a part of the second line I just can't quite get. How do notes connected by a tie work? I've listened back to that section of the video, but I'm not getting it yet.

Nice work! I believe Alex was definitely influenced by Ginger Baker. Alex could obviously swing with the best, but he could also jazz it up like Ginger Baker with his Air Force project. No surprise since Alex and Eddie’s dad was a big band musician. They grew up around all that swing, syncopation, jazz etc.
