@@RJOHNWell I’m not sure. That’s the only bird I can think of that kinda looks like that but they only occur on Kauai in the alaka’i plateau where most tourists and normal people can’t go. If you were above 3,000 ft elevation it could be native but anywhere lower is not.

When the ball hits the ground at high speeds, it compresses. The more it compresses, the more of it touches the ground. You can see this by simply putting a lot of your weight onto the ball and seeing that more of it touches the ground. In addition, the ball doesn't just touch the ground for one instant and immediately return to the air. When a ball bounces, it slides across the ground for a couple inches, hence the strange stretched shape of the hawkeye ball shadow. It's meant to look like that, and it only accounts for the parts of the ground the ball actually touches, as it should be.
