_Twin Cobra II_ is the best and sadly the last game in the _Tiger-Heli_ series, but it serves as an excellent swan song to a bygone era of old school shmups.

Bases loaded 2 had a better pace to it which wasn’t too slow at all compared to the first one, BL 2 is the better game IMO.

This was my favorite part about Bases Loaded! 😂 I liked Blades of Steel for the same reason. And in Blades of Steel, you could actually control the players in the fight scene.

_Alien 3_ comes close to being an excellent game. (And this from LJN!) It has atmospheric graphics, a great soundtrack by Jeroen Tel, good controls... ... and a ridiculous time limit with a bad scrolling camera that almost ruins the whole experience.

_Xevious_ is considered a classic, but I just don't see the appeal. Unless you're a hardcore shmup fan, skip this one.

Mike-p2z: You can buy the Arcade archive version on the Nintendo switch, select, pick the middle option to be able to access the menu when you press pause, the game setting are the dip switch however the arcade archive does not have the coins/credit dip switch, because it stays as 1 credit per coins, their is in game button mapping, you can change the quality of the audio, and you can move the display or make the display bigger, the default the filter is on at 00, so it look the same as Nintendo switch online NES, if you want to look more HD just turn off the filter. Their is a save state. Since you have to buy that game, when you press the button to add coins, it will not cost you more money. The online feature is to save your high score online, and all 3 mode have different online high score ranking, you do not need the payed Nintendo switch online services for this online feature since it was release before the payed online services. To play 2 player have at least 2 credit and press the R button on player 2 controler, or whatever you have it map to, and player 2 can only play in the Vs. Super mario bros. original. and it will work like NES version player 2 only gets a turn when player 1 lose a life, and player 2 is Luigi.

I played this game in the arcade as a kid. Never got farther than the second level. This video blew my mind when I started to hear Bloody Tears in the third stage. I did not know they used it in the arcade first. 🤯

I played it a lot back in the day, but never beat it.The game itself wasn't bad. Nice soundtrack. Super Castlevania IV is far superior though. That one is a true masterpiece.
