i own and live at 14 Gold st. this is a great idea. lord knows we need affordable housing. my only issue is, i already look out my windows and see KVCAPs parking lot, now i will see just more asphalt. is there a way to maybe have trees or plantings for the first 5 or 10 ft off the street. also adding more traffic to a congested area, where kids play and 2 cars cant pass at the same time if there are cars parked on street. concerns me.

Who's the guy chawing gum next to Mr. Mayhew? I'm rather surprised at the small amount of councilors, considering that a new chairman was elected, and two new councilpeople sworn in. Who's absent, and what possible reason could there be for that absence? And frankly, I'm very disappointed that so few of the people named to committee bothered to show for the meeting and their swearing in. Not a good start. And oh, my stars, the City Administrator making arbitrary decisions behind the council's back and reducing fees for "non-profits?" What does that say for the average taxpayer who wants to build on their property? Are they given the same breaks? Apparently not, and the Administrator circumvented the Council and worked as a rogue agent. Not good, not good. Plus, Councilor Thomas poo-pooing the notion that "something dark is going on behind the scenes" made me laugh. OF COURSE, something's going on behind the scenes! Otherwise, we wouldn't have this rather shocking revelation. Thomas needs to get his head out of his ass and smell the fresh air. Not a good start for a returning councilor with grand schemes and ideas of his own, I'm sure.
