I just replaced with 2.5 (vram and vrm) and they were too thick - gpu overheated and throttled. Changed to 2, now it runs like new.

Shouldn't the tubes be at the bottom I was always told that's a nono with the tubes up top because of air bubbles and that it kills the lifespan of the aio.

Im going to buy this model v.2 .is it ok to mining out of the box without replacing thermal pads.

Hello, thanks for watching the video. It is still ok for mining with v2 model. You will need to replace the thermal pad after a year or 2, 24/7, depending on the situation if the temperature raise and stay there at higher than previous temperature.

It depends… if your 3080 thermal pads start leaking oil and performance dropped then you have to replace the thermal pads. May be after a year plus of heavy usage, you should consider changing it because i saw few youtuber doing it for gigabyte 3080 gaming oc too, all with the bad quality thermal pads originally from the manufacturer. It's caused by gsync compatible function of nvidia driver , if u used lower verison 420.xx u might not get the same problem, the latest driver will have the same problem , u can disable the gsync compatible function and it will immediately fixed it
