The bitchy part about getting old,is loss of finger flexibility and being unable to play those fluid runs you could in your 40's. Hits around 60 and steadily compromises your playing. Willie Nelson is amazing to play as long as he had.

Dickey 'sweet tone' Betts. He's the one that plays music with his guitar.....instead of mindless widdling and fretboard pyrotechnics

Dickey Betts is one of my all time guitar heroes. I play myself and my daughter was named Jessica because of that Allman Bothers song that Dickey so much contributed to. It saddens me to no amount that his guitar skills are gone. Maybe he was drunk , I don't know. It hurts to see him fuck up so badly.

That man is authentic. He is aged, no crime in that. Ramblin man sounded great and the voice has more gravelly sounds to it...a strength not a weakness. Duane had a sounding solo also, keep reaching your father is above the stratosphere. Thanks for years of studio blue sky, ramblin man, and Elizabeth Reed...all sound just as good if not better live. Surprise! Have a good one

I'm somewhat a new fan and I really just can't believe after hearing the history and wealth within the Allman's Brothers Band's array of music that there wasn't a massive number of subscribers and fans for such an original, Richard 'Dicky' Betts.....I'm really enjoying your Highway Call album alot and I write songs (mostly demo recordings so far) myself....Finding your alls stuff is great and I'm looking forward to listening more, God willing. Thank you!

There’s some people who never lose their voice, like David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, some that that sound like they’ve aged some. But man poor Dickey, he can still pull off the guitar, but that voice, wtf.

I believe had he stopped drinking long time ago, he'd still be able to pull the trigger. Ah but at one time Forrest Richard Betts was one of the BADDEST guitar men on PLANET EARTH! time to hang it up. Duane Betts, gently take up the torch from Dad.❤

Their will never be another Allman Brothers Band. They Cannot be replaced. Dickey Betts was the leader of the Abb after D. Allmans Dealth and took the band in a different direction from 1972 to 1976. His guitar playing and style are legendary as he has left a permenant mark on blues/counry and southern Rock. Both he and Duane Allman set the bar for the absolute best music of all southern Rock acts that followed. Fillmore East is gold standard music. So glad he is still around and deserves the respect he has earned for his definite role in the formation of In my estimation the greatest Southern Band of all time bar NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody sounds like Richard Forest Betts. The Ramblin Man.
