I would double-check, but I believe these are also used on the 2.0 as well. If I recall, flip them over and should have a 2.0 stamp on them.

I started over. I bought a msx3 for it, just never time to install it 🙃 the factory harness had a lot of patch work in it, so I assumed it could be a wiring issue.

I replaced mine about 6 months ago the other day was coming up the hill gave it some gas the engine started making a rattling noise it drives fine but we'll rattle under load. Do you think I might have skipped it tooth and it could be the valves making the noise

Ours was a tooth off, one of the rocker arms fell off. it would make a rattle noise every time we would blip the throttle, and didn't notice any change in the cars behavior. Is that little red dont on your cluster?

I pulled my o2 sensor out closer to head and it ran good. Makes awful noise but that was the first time it ran good, and usally that means you have a restriction in exhaust.

I would check them first. If you can get your hands on a bi-directional scanner. Check the voltage if the voltage is not fluctuating that could be the issue.

I pulled the o2 sensor out cranked the car and it ran beautifully. But I gutted the whole oem wiring harness running the MS3X. Time hasnt been on my side lately. Having a bit of issue wiring up ignition without going C.O.P.

Thanks for this info, I was looking for this explanation that finally put some sense into it. The PT cruiser manual said both prominent marks facing each other but never pointed out the lesser smaller mark which was 180 awasy. Most other pt cruiser timing belt videos never clarified the prominent vs smaller timing marks. They were talking up arrows facing up and I didn't see the camshaft sprockets have the up arrows stamped the sprocket legs. That was a lifesaver video. Great up-thumbs and subscribed.

I replaced the cam sensor and map it ran good for a day or so. then started acting up again. I said hell with it im getting the megasquirt lol

@@bigdaddyt1107 no, my car starts right up but when it warm up it’s really bad. I change everything from sensor to throttle body and still idle bad. Got two Scan tool, the one I use all the time reads about 4 codes on it and the other one read 2 and says the timing belt skip a tooth or two

I've never had a timing code, mine was for evap and cam sensor. I also pulled the 02 sensor out and cranked car and it ran good so my high flow cat was bad but in return the bad cat burnt up the o2 sensor so i replaced that, It would idle good until it warmed up, so after gutting the cat and replaced o2 ran good for about a week. Like you no matter what I did it would always return. I seemed to have the most luck replacing o2 and cat. Can you see your timing belt or is it still in the cover

Also have you tried spraying carb clean around intake manifold and vacuum lines. Oh and meant say last post my o2 and clogged cat didn't throw a code. Have you checked 2gnt.com thats like the holy grail of info on 420a's also read the live data on your car after it warms up check STFT and make sure you around stoich I think its suppose to be around -5%, 0%, +5%

Thank you so much for posting this! Did you do a compression test as well? If so, how much of a difference in psi was #4 in comparison to the others. And what symptoms did the car have while it was running that made you test it in the first place?

Test was 160 on cylinder 1-3 and 35 on cylinder 4. Slight misfire every so often, but it always threw a p0304 code. We replaced the plugs, injector, wires, cam sensor and still threw the same code. Should've done the compression test to begin with.

Yea they are in between the intercooler and radiator. They are ran off toggles switches. You can feel the air being pulled from the front when you put your hand in front of intercool.

Coastal Boi Builds not really, the issue started when I noticed a bolt was missing from crankshaft sensor. Put the bolt in and a few miles later code came on. Now I cant go over 2500 rpm.
