Do you have an video or link of when the tensioner is not functioning properly, what noise it makes. I have a 94 with a lot of valve train noise.
@ComeauRacingEnterprises20 күн бұрын
Each engine is a case by case basis. The things that can make noise are the lifters which need to fill up with oil, and on a 16 valve engine, the tensioner chain.

@chriswilson55772 ай бұрын
First, straighten the tabs. The middle one and the one far from the camera are bent down and out. Second, are you absolutely positively sure the shroud mounts on the outside of the tab? Kind of looks like the shroud should slide down in between the radiator and the tabs. You might have to use new nuts and bolts to make that work.
@ComeauRacingEnterprises2 ай бұрын
You can see that the hardware for the fan shroud is on the inside of those tabs. Therefore, the fan is supposed to be mounted on the outside, not underneath those tabs. That air gap that’s created by the standoff allows air to spill out instead of being forced to the fans. It’s just a poorly designed product that causes more problems than it helps.

When i bought an aftermarket alloy rad for my early, i scrutinized the pics for all the correct mounts, gaps etc. They may look similar, but some don't pay attention to things that really matter. I settled on WRC Rad, which had the oem rubber isolator tabs and the shroud mounts were perfect, no gaps or mis alignments. Gave me th option to delete the oem temp and provided a alloy drain plug vs the oem plastic one that degrades over time.

I lost voltage leaving 944fest, I have a AC delete and the alternator sits down low.
