A friend of mine sent me this video. Me, him ,and a few others actually came to this place quite often early this year. We were the ones to actually put it up on Google Maps. We decided to try and mow as much as we could in one day and planned to keep coming back to mow the place but never did, we took plenty of beautiful photos, its good to see others discovering old pieces of history like this too. Around the time we were there, there were a lot of snakes living on the bridge where the vines are, it's an amazing sight

Heya, I'm chiming in to express my thanks for this fantastic video! I too, started having issues with my own T-18 and was nearly ready to scrap it when I discovered your instructional. I gathered my tools together, dissambled the motor and discovered exactly what you were talking about. I spent about three hours all tokd and the results were beyond my wildest imagination. A note about sealing. I used a marine grade sealant for the seams. I couldn't tell if it has the acid in it you mentioned so I'd welcome your perspective on that. Also, I took apart the bushes and found that the springs were hopelessly corroded. I took them out and after I cleaned everything up, I hit upon an idea. I butchered a couple of ballpoint pens for their springs and cut them to fit and it seems to have been the perfect solution. The bushes move beautifully in their housings and the motor runs beautifully. I use my motor with my 14 foot sailing boat and I spend a lot of time on the sea off Adelaide. In the 18 months since I've had it, I have never performed any sort of maintenance on it. I now plan to make this a regular schedule where I'll strip everything down and repeat the process. My sincere thanks to you for this invaluable instructional. Salut!
@GizmosBushEscapesАй бұрын
Thanks for that. Yeah marine grade stuff is perfect. I have another video where I made even more improvements to this motor. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5zRdJ2EecaMl5I

One of my local spots too as a teen. One point if I may without seeming like a nonce, Yagara or Yuggera is pronounced “ya-ga-RA” with the emphasis on the third syllable…or phonetically “Yug-a-ra”. The way you’ve pronounced it you’re emphasising the second syllable “ya-GA-ra” ..this is not accurate. Think of other Yagara place words like pinkenBAH, MoogaRAH, kabulCHA (Caboolture), bundamBA, and so on. They’re usually three syllable words with the emphasis on the third syllable. Not always, but mostly. Hope this helps ✌️

It's not so easy hey, we know we should be checking shots to make sure they came out and checking sound and adjusting camera for light but when you add that to all the double walking and looking for angles, flying a drone, and actually doing the hike it would end up being an overnighter haha. I also like the fact that you're someone who knows how to climb and still have the sense to say, this is not smart for a solo trip. I am one of those people that don't feel safe trusting a rope haha, but I really should face that fear one day. It might even make a good video one day haha. It would be good to have a film crew, but I also enjoy the challenge and the learning.

I love that I am still learning of places in the bay from you. I have done eprapah creek before but I never knew of the launch point at Oyster point park. That looks like the paddle across from there would be far more interesting than the one around from Orana esplanade kayak ramp. I think next time I go I will launch from that park. Any advice on what tide? Like is 1/2 tide ok? Also I have a journey like yours that has been cursed for me too, every time I planned it covid shut the borders. So I stopped trying to do it and now we have no more covid haha. (Clarence river canoe trail). Anyway, great video mate.

@GizmosBushEscapes2 ай бұрын
Yeah its not easy to get to either. Possibly if the Marina allowed private boat owners use of their ramp. But they have a big sign up saying private property .do not enter.
@DavoTheDalek2 ай бұрын
@@GizmosBushEscapes Ah right. Was there nowhere closer to launch from or was that trip part of the adventure?
@GizmosBushEscapes2 ай бұрын
@DavoTheDalek possibly could have launched from the beach front walk at Vic point. But you would need 2 people as the breakwater is fairly steep and my kayak is heavy. Further south along the esplanade is easy access. But it's about the same distance as Oyster point only the tide sits much lower there. So my easiest option was Oyster point. There is also a small track that leads to the fishing platform. If you have a kayak cart that might also be an option. But yes as you say. All part of the adventure.
