This opening was so utterly delightful, even with Varga literally spewing chunks in the toilet. It does such a phenomenal job setting up our characters in roles that perfectly match their personalities. Nikki quietly walking in to "the Cat" and Varga gorging himself as "the Wolf" were just _chef's kiss_

The governor is a really fun villain but I wouldn’t say he was on Negan’s level. All his plans are thought with prone to anger. He just throws everything he can at you at once and expects to win. It why Rick beat him both times as he knew how to counter that with simple brain work. Can say Rick got lucky on fight 2 but he was still at a disadvantage and still won. The governor was smart but greedy and anger held him back a lot. With Negan he had patience and would move pawns forward so enemies will show part of their game. He beat Rick several times just by biding his time and picking his moment. And all his loses to Rick was not down to Rick himself but unexpected help from others. Probably one of the best villains in a show ever. As he pushed our protagonist as far as he could go.
