Do you have instruction manual of TCS 5574? I am unable to find it on internet. I am in India.

You're going to love it in Japan. If you make it to Osaka, visit Joshin super kids land. Apparently it makes Yodobashi train section look small. I'm trying to plan another visit next year and will definitley be visiting there. Unfortunately I didn't find out about Joshin until I returned home.

@@Tomix_Down_Under I've been to Japan 3 times before. It never stops being amazing. I have never looked for model trains though!

@@Tomix_Down_Under That's absolutely magnificent. It's almost too much to process.
Do you know the basic diminsons of kato boxes? Im planning on getting a lot of stuff from them and a bit of tomix stuff aswell if i have the space in my suitcas. Thx

Hi. I didn't get any measurements sorry, but they did look a good amount bigger than the Tomix starter sets. From my walkthrough video ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6Kqood_n753ocU ) looking at the size compared to the train folders the starter sets seem to be around 380mm x 380mm x 100mm. The expansion sets seemed to be quite compact. I do have the Kato V14 double loop set, it measures 470mm x 380mm x 80mm. I was planning on just Kato gear, but Tomix has a much larger range of track and accessories that Kato doesn't offer. Also, the Kato sets come packed in preformed foam so it's a lot of "wasted" space. All the Tomix sets are packed in cardboard making it easy to flatpack and squeeze more into your suitcase.

@@Tomix_Down_Under thx, I'm planning on getting the 10-005 e5/e6 train set that karo offers because that have everything I need, but I was considering getting the tomix ones separatly and getting some kato tracks and perhaps ditching the boxes for the track. but it's gonna be more annoying because of the language barrier in Japan.

@@Tomix_Down_Under while I'm gonna get the tomix double track elevated loop and small loop of tram tracks. Because they are more compacted and cheaper than kato ones.

@@legoisthebest001SCR I did see that set, it was a pretty massive box. My biggest worry before going was getting rid of rubbish from packaging. All the hotels we stayed in were only too happy to take any rubbish so it was a non issue. The one in Akihabara (REMM) even provided a sticker sheet so you could put stickers on any rubbish for the cleaners to remove. I did pretty much all my train shopping in different Yodobashi stores. They're nicely laid out with plenty of stock. You can spend plenty of time (if you have it) looking at the different products. Something that might be work getting is a couple of the Kato ( Kato 20-045) to other track system tracks. www.yodobashi.com/product/100000001000169215/ If you end up purchasing the Tomix raised track separately don't forget to purchase a couple of Track power feeders. @@Tomix_Down_Under thanks for all the advice and details! I'll definitely go into that store as I've got some none trains items that I want to consider to buy as well. I'm also gonna try to go to some model train specific stores so I can get some second hand models for cheap as there are some unboxed items (don't need to deal with boxes) and for cheap. Also after seeing this video, I have less stress about packing all my wish list items when I'm in japan. Thank you :)
