WOW he sugar coated this disease & that’s disappointing. So for those who need more understanding, this is disease hijacks your body WHILE YOU ARE FULLY AWARE. That makes it worse! This is my grandpa currently and he has had PSP going on 6 years. He cannot talk, he cannot walk, he chokes on food and liquids so food needs to be blended and water needs to be thickened to insure no aspiration which can lead to pneumonia, eventually feeding tube will be put in, he cannot look up or down without moving his head so there is no Peripheral vision. They bite their tongues and they bleed. Uncontrollable PSP face (google what that looks like, they always look worried or surprised) Uncontrollable emotions like laughing and crying he cannot help it. Depression. PT & OT barely help. If anything after he is in pain for days on end after. Freeze gait is present, if he holds on to a bar he is squeezing it for dear life and it’s hard to get him to unlock his hands or let go, he is tired all the time but can only sleep 10-20 minutes unless given strong sleep pills and anxiety pills which also do not work, dizziness and sometimes falling out of bed(they feel like they’re slipping out of bed) his joints and neck are so stiff and eventually PSP patients shrivel up and cannot keep their head up and their hands become cramped(think vegetable but still FULLY aware) their brain tricks them into thinking it’s time to use the restroom so it can be up and down for hours taking them to the bathroom, he has developed Echoalia which is him repeating everything I say when he is able to muster up a mumble, agitation and I just know with all I described, I STILL missed a lot of points. NOW HERE IS REAL ADVICE FROM A CAREGIVER who takes care of someone with this disease: this is hard! Take care of yourself. It’s an emotional ride. You are watching someone you love lose themselves quickly. If you cannot take care of yourself due to lack of sleep you cannot be there for your psp individual. Have family and friends help out so you get a day off. I went 9 months with no help and no sleep. I was losing my mind. You’re filled with anxiety about when the next fall is going to happen or if I have to find him on the floor because he forgot to ring his bell to tell me he has to use the bathroom. You need a lot of help and support. No body can do this alone. Also look up “Big and Loud” on KZbin it’s speech therapy and exercises for your loved one. Keep them talking as long as you can. Do vocal warm ups with them. OH and they respond so well to music. My grandpa won’t talk and I can tell he’s trying to speak but if I put on his favorite songs he is able to sing and that brings happiness to both PSP patients and the caregiver. Good luck 🍀

I also forgot to add they are prone to UTI like CRAAAAAZY. Which can lead to sepsis.

ONE MORE THING: a lot of them tend to fall backwards. At first he started with shuffling then he would start run to try to catch himself. Eventually it turned into only backwards falls and mostly leaning backwards. So as we always say “nose over toes!”

My doctor just told me yesterday that I need a pacemaker and like a year or two I was telling me about this option. He says I'm young and doesn't want to put the regular pacemaker in because of the leads and it wears out and when they take it out it can cause death so he suggested this but also nobody in Missouri has gotten one he said which makes me a little worried. I don't know which pacemaker I'll decide to do when it comes to that time but this is scary something that was just approved.

He really whitewashed this horrific disease. My husband was diagnosed in 2022, it took a long time to diagnose. Now it is 2024 and my husband can't do anything on his own. Speech has been gone for over a year. He is extremely stiff, movement almost impossible. I could go on and on. Pray for a cure.

Exactly me!! My new cardiologist totally believes me although my angiogram and other tests looked good. His partner, however, told me I can't have angina with clear vessels. After and ER visit and how I am responding to medications, I probably have coronary angiospasm and/or microvascular disease. It is a very serious situation, so don't let anyone dismiss your symptoms. No wonder heart disease is the largest killer of women! How many doctors have dismissed symptoms.

I've just been catapulted into this world of autoimmunity and it's blowing my mind. The immune system not being able to do its job? Ok, so I go to my primary physician today and we set in motion A few processes. Blood work, mammogram, orthopedics, stop, for now. Connect those dots. I'm heavy. Dermatology says I have spinal nerve damage. I have Psoriasis. Another skin ailment led to a biopsy which led to autoimmunity. I am totally confused as to how to fight this! It can require a system of specialists that has to collaborate with each other to reach a conclution they don't have. Roll the dice! I have given most of this to the Lord, especially pain. I asked for comfort and strength and He gave me both. There will be a lot more of it needed in the future. I'm old. I'm ready. It's time to trust the Master.

There are different causes for sleep apnea. Obviously not for central sleep apnea, but for obstructive sleep apnea. For obstructive sleep apnea, it's not always the tongue. How do you screen people to know it's the tongue specifically, and not the Uvula, pallete, jaw or otherwise. If it doesn't work, do you have to pay for removal? What is the success rate so far? Also, I am going to assume that stimulating the tongue to move forward doesn't interupt the sleep state. So it doesn't interupt REM cycles.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation of John 20:15)

People are really unaware of how glyphosate has worked its way into food and air in 30 years. Some people can go to places that don't use it and recover from some autoimmune diseases. Estonia banned glyphosate for this reason. Glyphosate is in US air, it's in the water, it's in nuts, wheat oranges, blueberries. Glyphosate is killing us.
